Makes me wonder if a box set is in the works. Shout already has 1-3 + 5 & 6. And 7 is with Warner Bros.
All they'd need is 4 and 8... just something to think about.
Ugh, this has to be without doubt the worst horror franchise of all time !

I've got to go with Hellraiser on that one. It had headed to space by the fourth film and only managed to get WORSE from there.

Hellraiser's sequels, at least the ones I've suffered through, tried to take themselves seriously, and that's where they failed, in my book.

I'd probably buy a Howling box set though for completionist sake. The first 3 are all entertaining. haven't watched any beyond that.
Howling II was a miserable film I got suckered into watching simply because of Christopher Lee and Sybil Danning.

Aside from the aforementioned, I found no redeeming qualities in the movie. I didn't think it would ever end.

Although, I really enjoyed Howling V.

all of the HOWLING sequels are either dreadful or ordinary at best.

I liked the atmosphere of part 4 but overall it was mediocre, part 6-- The Freaks I think was the most entertaining thanks largely in part to the actor that was the bad guy in Passenger 57 playing a vampire...

I still have to see the ones that came after V, I figured I would stop there because at that point I only really enjoyed 2 of the 5 I had seen and the others were quite terrible. So right now I & V are my favorites of the franchise.

Though if they do release proper blu-rays of the rest of the series, I would probably pick them up.

The original Howling is obviously the best but out of all the sequels the only one I can sit through again is 2. I don't like any of the others & I watched them all sometime last year.

I agree. It's really the only Howling film along with the original that I like. Will most likely buy this one.

The Howling is an underrated series overall. Some sequels are better than others, obviously, but I can't say I wouldn't mind some special treatment for III, V, and VI. I'd love to get IV, but isn't that with Lionsgate?

Every time a Howling sequel would come out I would cringe and say "oh, man, not another one" but rent the tape anyway . Of course, I would always end up very disappointed in the film lol. Despite my disdain for the franchise I'd still like to see a set collection. I think it's time for a reevaluation.

I haven’t seen III and IV since the VHS days. I stopped watching after IV. Should have stopped after the first.

Along with my previous 'request' for Scream Factory to give Masters of the Universe some (new) love on Blu-ray, I found another title that needs a new release with some actual special features this time around:

Mortal Kombat.
