I would recommend getting the MGM DVD watch is very nice and it can still be had for a good rice. Amazon have it still new for $16.
According this this comment posted above they aren't likely with Simcom anymore or else Synapse wouldn't have flat out said that they are unobtainable.

The back of Synapse’s Prom Night box says “licensed from Echo Brige,” who has US home video rights to I, II, and IV. It’s weird that those two are unavailable. Echo Bridge’s DVD boxes have Alliance Atlantis’s logo (who was purchased by Entertainment One) for all three films. It’s weird that the third film has vanished off the face of the earth. Maybe the materials are gone, so it’s just not good enough for even DVD or streaming. That would be an achievement for the materials to not even be good enough for Echo Bridge.

Any fans of Hello Mary Lou should totally watch this interview with Ron Oliver (writer, uncredited reshoot director). It slightly makes up for the lack of a Blu-ray for bonus features. I could ask him on FB if he knows what’s keeping this film from BD, but he probably doesn’t know.

E1 recently sold the Alliance catalog to FilmRise in the US (several of AA owned titles are popping up on various streaming sites and many of them seem to sport new HD masters). I heard FilmRise mostly deals with streaming but does licence out for physical releases (My Friend Dahmer was put out by MVD under licence). Worth a shot though.

Whose up for Scream getting the rights to the likes of Alien?
To me that's the one downside of Disney owning fox, we wont see more r rated marvel movies like deadpool or any r rated movies at all from the fox catalog. They might end up locking stuff up and throwing away the key.

Yeah, they’re on their free-viewing streaming service. May have to inquire about this.

I read on Wikipedia that My Bloody Valentine blu-ray is out of print. Would it be possible for Scream Factory or Arrow Video to get the rights to this film?

The 1981 MBV has been out of print since something like 2012. It was released in 2009 by Lionsgate. It's back with Paramount now though so no, it's not a Scream Factory candidate at this time. MBV '09 was released by Lionsgate, so again, not a Scream Factory Candidate.

I hope Paramount will re-release it. Although I have a copy of it but since it’s so expensive I’m reluctant to watch it a lot worried something might happen to the disc.

I wish! They would do a great job with that and probably go back and correct the PQ on the uncut scenes for the movie. I only have the Paramount uncut DVD and would love a Blu in it.

Scream doesn't have a deal with Paramount, do they?

It's one of the LG discs that suffers from rot, so I'd enjoy it if I were you, as there's a decent chance it could end up damaged on its own.

Sincerely,
The Guy Who Owns Two Rotted Copies

In that case there’s the dilemma whether to keep it or sell it lol.

Is anyone else wondering where the Amazon.ca pre orders for October are? They sure are taking their sweet time for that month...

I see that they have the Halloween 2 & 3 steelbooks for 27.88. Gives me hope that Amazon.ca might not follow suit to the full prices of Amazon.com right now!

There are a lot of titles for October I have been waiting for Amazon.ca to list. Kino's Night Stalker/ Strangler and Trilogy of Terror in addition to Scream's titles.

I own a copy (believe I only watched it once, years ago, not long after I purchased it), and now you have me worried that it will no longer function . Will have to give it a spin again soon. Maybe this weekend.

No, that was in referral to the Stepfather sequels.

wouldn't that be incredible if they did? Finally we could be getting all these Paramount catalog titles that we so desperately want. Hopefully some day...

I checked my copy earlier this week and it continued to play fine. However given the premium price and known issues with this release I've also got an ISO backup stored on my media server so that I can re-create the disc in the event it eventually fails and no one offers a replacement. I remain hopeful however that it will never come to that because 1) My disc will hopefully never fail, and 2) That Paramount will eventually license their catalog and someone will re-issue the release.

The Halloween 2&3 steelbooks were listed unusually early for .ca, if they follow the regular time frame for scream titles i would expect them to be up by the end of next week.
