I'll still pick up the odd "must have" directly from SF, but there's absolutely no way I'm ordering anything from Amazon. Nope. Not in those cheap paper wrappers they call "packages".

What this is going to affect is my urge to impulse buy anything from SF again. Like when I'm placing a big order from Diabolik, and I say "why the hell not" to something that flew under my radar. Or when I spot something at a local record store. I can't buy what isn't there.

It's hard - I did post the following on their Facebook page, though:

Would you please make an official statement regarding the pre-order / Amazon debacle that's going on? There's a lot of frustrated and disgruntled people here, and it would be nice to know what's going on before people start 'throwing the baby out with the bathwater'.

They responded rather quickly with: Trust us when we say we are not ignoring you (or others) and have heard the feedback. The matter is complex. Please be patience until we can address more formally. Thanks.

(I really wanted to correct their spelling / grammar mistake, but refrained. ) Hopefully things are going (okay?) behind the scenes and they'll be able to let us know what's going on and what their policies might be moving forward.

Coffers must be mighty tight after buying all of those Corman classics.

This business strategy may be hilariously ill-conceived, but at least we're getting Munchie on Blu.

Wouldn't it make better business sense for Scream factory to sell their releases in as many stores as possible with out these restrictions ?

Amazon dropped ROTLD2 to $25.70. Still have a way to go to match Walmart’s $23.17 (plus free 2 day shipping).

This really is bizarre. People paid $34 plus yesterday on Amazon. WTF?

Unless Amazon is paying for exclusivity and they get more margin for direct sales on their own site.

Exclusivity really is anti consumer and does nothing but fragment the market a lot like how content producers fragment the market with streaming services and exclusive rights.

Not only does it fracture the market, but it artificially inflates prices due to lack of competition. Amazon almost never drops their prices unless matching a competitor.

Well we are supposed to have a free market but how can you have a free market when only 1 or two control the majority of the market ?

Don't worry. In due time Disney will own everything, including your soul... so then what?

Shout/Scream has FINALLY given me a tracking number for the Child's Play replacement discs.

...something internally has changed for the numerous issues to be happening.
