Then this means we should expect it from Scream Factory some time next year. We're 14+ titles into the Vestron line and the film still hasn't made it into the line so that was the first clue they didn't have it. The second clue was Shout releasing another Vista Organization title last year (Dudes). I hope they get Julie Carmen to participate in the extras. She's one of the reasons this film is so enjoyable

Scream Factory shipped a whole new Blu-ray as replacement for the Wild at Heart error.

I'm pretty sure Scream Factory responded to an inquiry on Facebook, not long after Dudes was announced, that there were still US rights issues re: Fright Night Part 2. I don't recall them elaborating on what those issues might have been. At the time, I might have written that off as them trying to hide their hand, but it's been over a year since the Dudes announcement and it still hasn't been announced, so maybe there is something more to that, after all. If they had the rights to release it, it seems unlikely that they would have passed up a chance for a 30th anniversary release on a film that might be their most requested, ever.

Does Shout play the Anniversary game? I don't think I've ever seen an Anniversary-themed released from them. In any case, I'm confident now more than ever that this will finally happen.

It may have already been mentioned, but I'm curious what will happen with the Miramax content. Didn't some company come in and buy it? Wonder if Shout will be able to get access. They have a ton of great titles and a bunch of OOP stuff. A lot of their blu transfers were pretty junk as well, so there's good reason to do some re-releases.

Pretty sure Lionsgate has the entire Miramax catalog. I know it used to be divided between them and Echo Bridge, but I’m pretty sure Lionsgate has it all now. They’re just choosing not to reissue some of the stuff Echo Bridge already put out.

I believe I heard that Shout! Factory did bid on the catalog though, at least the half that went to Echo Bridge.

Thanks for the heads up! I see that not only House on Haunted Hill dropped but Trick R Treat is now 26.19 too!

Im not offended that guy probably watches a Serbian film on repeat not because he thinks its a good film but because he thinks it makes him a "man"

My question to Scream: “I buy a ton of stuff from Scream/Shout... why are you limiting vendors on new releases to solely Amazon and yourself? Heck of a way to treat your long-term customers. Very disappointing and causing me to rethink whether I will purchase from your business ever again”

Their response: “We apologize for the recent disruption in the normal pre-order experience for Shout! Factory products at other retailers. Please allow for a couple of weeks as we sort this out on our end and return back to (or close to) the process as it was before. Thank you for understanding and, again, we apologize for the inconvenience and confusion.”

...they seem to acknowledge the issue. I hope that they are sincere in ultimately correcting it.

That was the exact response they gave another forum member last week. They seem to have a prepared statement which would imply that the outcry has been decent.
