![]() The "2 weeks early" bonus was the only reason I preordered direct through Shout Factory. Oh wellz, I'm sure I'll use the $4 coupon on something else I want. Not like I don't have a bunch of other movies to watch... Last edited by u2popmofo; 09-22-2018 at 03:49 AM. |

For those who pre-ordered Trick R Treat, did anyone get the same notice?
"Thank you for your pre-order for Trick 'r Treat [Collector's Edition]. During the summer, there was an industry-wide upheaval in the disc manufacturing process, due to the majority of production being consolidated at a single plant. Understandably, this has caused some of our delivery dates to be delayed. This delay inhibits our ability to ship Trick 'r Treat to you two weeks early. Instead, these orders will ship starting next week, to arrive one week earlier than the national street date." So next week is when we all get our trick R treat BDs in the mail one week earlier. And got coupon for 4 bucks off next purchase, sounds nice and i'll use it on Candyman. |

If other studios are having issues, they're not obvious. Though they probably had a good enough plan/preparedness for this, while Scream/Shout probably didn't have one (or at least the one they had wasn't well thought out).

I know some of the soundtrack boutique labels were affected by a sudden change to disc manufacturing plants, which I didn't know extended to movies until now. La-La Land Records seemed to have quite a few titles that were out-of-stock for months, which they finally mentioned was because of the normal plants they use shutting down and having to find a new manufacturer to shuffle their titles to.

Perhaps this might actually explain the suddenly inaccessibility of their newest releases...or maybe not.
Could be this, them giving Richard P. Rubinstein a boatload of cash for the titles he's holding hostage, a new boss who's super money hungry, a combination of all three or none of the above but rather them suddenly becoming jerks "for the lulz". |

So dramatic lol, how does them delaying the early release by a week constitute a shitstorm?

Well now with the 3D 40th anniversary of Dawn of the Dead October 29th in theaters, fans are gonna line up to see it and they'll give Richard the money in theaters and all. Then we can finally have Dawn of the Dead re-issued on blu-ray.
