Started my Halloween viewing tonight with a Scream title: High Spirits

I really liked it. Doesn’t get nearly enough credit. O’Toole, Neeson, and D’Angelo are all excellent in it. Plus, the subplot with Peter Gallagher as the priest that falls for Jennifer Tilly was really funny. A shame it pretty much got dumped back when Scream were tossing everything into a double feature.
I mean, it got paired with Vampire’s Kiss for god sakes, and I like that movie too, but it’s not in any way similar or related. Also, it meant that Neil Jordan’s director’s cut, which is apparently a very different film, will likely never see the light of day. Oh well...

Will be watching The Sentinel tomorrow & Rabid shortly thereafter.

Has anyone else here preordered City Slickers? It’s been processing for a week now & no shipping notice yet. I’ve contacted them and no response, just curious really.

I don't mind it either. It sure beats the Serial Mom cover in my opinion.

Critters set is $56 on Amazon.ca. Debating if I buy or not. Up front it doesn't seem like a great deal, but if I look at it per movie it's not terrible.

Well House on Haunted Hill came on time last week. I was just wondering if City Slickers has shipped for anyone who ordered? Creepshow is also currently processing.

That's how I look at it with the multi-film sets. 56$ is currently a lot better than what it was when I first put down my pre-order. Then it dipped down to about 64$ for a while. Nice to see that it's dipped further still. I wonder if by release time it'll get as low as the REC Collection?

My REC collection still hasn't shipped from Bullmoose.

Not complaining as I'm not sure when I'll even watch them.

Just fascinated to watch this play out.

Yeah I wish Vampire's Kiss got it's own release. I love this movie, but I've never seen High Spirits before. I'm looking to pick this Double feature up along with the Terrorvision one and Once Bitten double.

It really is especially with the changes Shout made. This is the first time I’ve really ordered direct from their own site. Last year I picked up all my Scream titles from Amazon or eBay. The 2 week guarantee to me at least isn’t that big of a deal as long as the movie gets to me. Some things you just have no control over.

My House on Haunted Hill still hasn’t shipped. It’s in the same order as my Trick R Treat but I did Not check the box that says ship order together. Guess they are anyways?

Strange. Those should be out and available by now as even with the supposed plant consolidation delays those should have been pressed and boxed up some time ago. My collection arrived on release day. I revisited the full series last week.

Where is the language stating that the posters are free?

Seems as though the Candyman listing is the only one that doesn't have "Free" in the description.

Those are just four that I could find. "Free" has always been in their verbiage.

Yup. "Some people like to make stuff up", except for all of the actual instances being referenced.

Here's the wording for the HALLOWEEN III steelbook as of right this minute
"Order from ShoutFactory.com and get a FREE 28.5" X 16.5" ROLLED LITHOGRAPH featuring our brand new artwork (limited edition of 1,000 lithographs)!"

And THE THING steel:
Special Offer: Order from ShoutFactory.com and get a FREE 28.5" X 16.5" ROLLED LITHOGRAPH featuring our brand new artwork (limited edition of 1,500 lithographs)!

The one I copy and pasted yesterday WAS from Critters, but that now just says Exclusive, and has dropped the "FREE". I also noticed that some of the further out upcoming releases no longer list "FREE" and the item listing is now "(Movie Title)+Exclusive Poster". So, it looks like they either caught that, or other people noticed the shady wording/pricing on social media.

It does appear that they have removed/stopped including the word "FREE" with some of the upcoming titles....which is a step in the right direction. Though, even without the "FREE", the wording still implies that it's some sort of bonus or gift for ordering direct from them, and not a forced upcharge.

Meh. Whatever. Depending on how TRT and my other pre-orders shake out as far as shipping and communication, IF I pre-order directly again, I'll just wait until the lithos/posters are gone and save the 5 bucks.

I see some are reporting not getting Trick or Treat from preordering directly from Scream. That's pretty crazy. Supposedly my retailer of choice will be getting them in this week. We'll see how it pans out.

Could be a matter of Shout not providing stock to Bullmoose (and other retailers) yet.

It's rare for Bullmoose to be this late (just got Kino's The Night Stalker in the mail yesterday, one day early) so I'm sure the onus is on Shout.
