More Hammer on the way - Plague of the Zombies coming 15th January:

I'm curious to see which Hammer titles will be getting the CE treatment, as I did think this one would. I expect next year we're likely to see at least one Hammer title a month, between their deals with Hammer and Warner Bros.

Does anyone experience a problem with Scream's steelbook version of The Fog and its setup menu audio? It seems that most of the time when I view this disc, the setup menu's audio is muted with nothing playing, while other times the menu is accompanied by music from the film.

Last night, I took it off the shelf to watch in kicking off the horror film viewing marathon for this month, and the setup menu played with the audio in the background -- however, the last couple of times I played it before this, it didn't.

Is this a disc problem or something with my BD player?

Also -- anyone else notice that the video noise in the blacks on this transfer can get SERIOUSLY annoying and swarming? In the sequence when the men on the Sea Grass are attacked by the ghosts in the beginning, the swirling mist effects and black levels looked absolutely ATROCIOUS on my new Samsung 4K display -- something I didn't see on my previous television, a Sony SXRD...

Yeah. I would be one of those. Pre-ordered it waaaay back in July. A day or two after it should have shipped to meet the "2 weeks" early window, I got an email saying their production had been reduced to a single plant, and so supplies were short. As such, they would be shipping it the next week, for a "1 week early" delivery, and gave me a 4 dollar coupon code.

That delay week has since come and gone. I haven't gotten any new updates. I haven't gotten any response from my direct email to their customer service alias. And my TRT disc is still showing as "processing" in my order history.

As I've mentioned previously (can't remember if it was this thread or the dedicated TRT one), I get/understand manufacturing issues that can't be controlled.... but when the stated delay time frame has come and gone, they really should provide some sort of update and new ETA.

I have The Fog steelbook & I don’t recall any issues with mine.

Technically it’s only a week after the guarantee & the street date is next week.

Wasn't THE FOG steelbook just the same previous disc in a new case?

Will definitely be getting this. And I'm really hoping for The Devil Rides Out in 2019.

Thanks; your startup menu doesn't sometimes play audio in the background and sometimes not?

When you have a chance, could you run a test for me and see if yours comes up with the audio playing? I'm just curious to know if I received a faulty copy...

I would appreciate it, TX!

I believe so; either version, then, should have the problem I cited (if it wasn't relegated to JUST my copy).

I’ll look into it for you later tonight & send a PM. What’s the other issue? Sorry I’m not so knowledgeable about what noise is.

Thanks bro!

The other issue was in the dark/black sequences...if the transfer looks "noisy" with a lot of swarming, visual pixilation and "garbage" in the blacks. If you're not running a screen as large as mine, you may not really see it.

Well to be fair my TV is not 4K but it’s a 55 inch LCD screen.

Oh, then you SHOULD be able to make out really pixelated/noisy blacks that just don't look good...

In particular, check out the opening sequence aboard the Sea Grass when the fog rolls in and attacks the men -- this scene on my new display looks AWFUL...almost to the point I can't even make out what's going on in the scene because of the swarm of grain, noise and pixilation.

I remember not liking Howling 3 too much years ago. Might give it another chance but not sure.
