Not sure why Jim teased this!

All correct. I would have preferred to buy the Scream Factory Candyman, so when Arrow announced they had it, I waited, and I saw where someone asked Scream Factory if they were going to release it. Scream Factory replied with "no," an angry face emoji, and then blocked the guy who asked the question. Even though I know Scream Factory denies stuff, I thought for sure this meant they didn't have it, and I ordered the Arrow. But what do you know, the very next day, Scream Factory announced Candyman. Since they've denied Sorority House Massacre II/Hard to Die the same way, I'm hoping that means it's coming soon. Regardless, I'm glad I purchased the Arrow version. It has that UK cut, plus the packaging looks a lot better.

I'm aware Scream Factory doesn't "owe" anyone any information on what they're releasing. I get that. But it would be nice if they would occasionally let the fans know what's coming, here and there. If they'd come out with a "hold on, if you're thinking about getting the Arrow Candyman, we're releasing it, too," they would've gotten my business, as well as the business of several others I know who've done the same thing.

I'm not complaining; it just seems like a doofus move on their part.

I received "HOHH" last week, but "Trick ' Treat" says processing for the last four days even though some have already received their copies.

What I'm really unsure about is if I look under order status, I see "Creepshow" and "Trick 'Treat", but nowhere are the steelbooks plus lithos for "Halloween II" and "Halloween III." I ordered both of these the day they were announced as well and received a confirmation email with order number.

Shouldn't "HII" and "HIII" be listed under my order status? I emailed Shout a few days ago to inquire and after I submitted my questions on their contact page it said someone would get back to me in 24-48 hours. But they never did.

Any insight/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Honestly, your best bet is to just wait until it's delivered. Contacting customer service will only get you a smartass answer, if you get an answer at all. I, too, am waiting on notification for Trick R Treat. It's easiest just to be patient and wait for it to show up.

Thanks for the reply. I'm just not sure if "HII" and "HIII" steelbooks should show up under my order status?

From what I recall others saying, Shout used to have really good, friendly customer service. What happened to this company?

Are we talkin' about the original House on Haunted Hill by William Castle starring Vincent Price, or the remake from William Malone?

Now I understand Shout customer service is likely getting hammered right now due to all their delays, but I have had a legitimate issue that I need to have looked into and I've been trying to contact them for almost a week now with no response to either of my two messages.

I got a shipping notice for House on Haunted Hill two weeks ago but when I didn't receive it a week later I checked tracking and it showed no movement. It still shows no movement at all at the "label created" phase which might indicate the post office doesn't even have it yet. All I am asking them for is an update and whether they can tell me what the holdup is. Heck, even a "we're busy right now, but will look into it soon." Nothing.

Guess I will give them another week and message them next week. Next step will likely be a charge back after that.

SF replying to someones question saying "no" and then the very next day announcing they have it... feels like a slap in the face to their supporters no?

The best thing they could do is to not even reply at all if they are going to give us lies instead of answers.

None for me yet either. "Processing" status for days. I'm in Phoenix and my SF orders seem to always ship from KY, so at this point there's no way I'll even get it by the street date with Media Mail.

I don't think it's a slap in the face. That's a bit extreme. They want to make their announcements little events. People should just stop asking.

Going to Orlando Florida next weekend (from the UK). What shops are best to find Scream Factory titles for sale? I only know of Best Buy and Target stores.

With Scream pumping out Sony titles as of late, I'd love to see them give a Collector's Edition to Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. That flick definitely deserves a new transfer and special features to go along with it!

If you are able to go Tampa, Florida, there is a shop there called Grindhouse Video.

I've never been there before myself but I have ordered from their online shop, they have great customer service.

Here is a link to their site

I checked google and the distance between Orlando and Tampa seems to be 125Km. Have a nice trip !

Exactly. I live in Orlando and unfortunately ever since movie stop closed the only place your gonna find movies from boutique labels is to take the trip to tampa for grindhouse video. If your looking for scream factory titles your gonna pay between 25 and 30 bucks just to let you know.

Considering the acquisition from Warner, I'm really hoping Scream Factory release Valentine (2001) and Fear Dot Com.

Yep I live in Tampa and go to Grindhouse Video weekly. It’s about an hour drive from Orlando.

The US Bankruptcy Court gave an order approving the sale of certain assets of Our Alchemy, LLC on September 17, 2018. The debtor has been authorized to sell certain assets to OA Acquisitions LLC, the stalking horse bidder for a purchase price of $3.25 million in cash. The debtor’s assets include all contract rights, right to receive and retain all sums payable from the exploitation of the pictures. At the auction held, OA Acquisitions LLC emerged as the winning bidder by offering a purchase price of $3.25 million whereas Shout! Factory, LLC, the competing bidder, had offered a purchase price of $3.08 million.
https://www.bloomberg.com/research/s...apId=170898376

Shout! Factory got outbid, but it appears they are willing to spend some serious cash when it comes to content acquisition. This would have been a purchase, not a license, so don't read too much into that price and how that compares to a studio license deal with WB, Sony, Universal, MGM, etc. I can't find any information about OA Acquisitions LLC. I'm not sure if that's an existing company or a shell company set up specifically for this transaction.

I don't have a list of films that were included in this transaction, but my understanding is that Alchemy owned a catalog of more than 1,000 film titles including a large number of films that from Avi Lerner's Millennium Films catalog, which would also include First Look Studios / Overseas Filmgroup titles. Prior to the sale, a few Millennium titles (Ginger Snaps, Dog Soldiers, Southern Comfort) were licensed to Shout! Factory.

The guy that leaked all the Scream titles on Instagram a few months back said it was coming along with a whole bunch of other ones that mostly turned out to be true.
