Out of those, From a Whisper to a Scream is your best bet. It's a lot of sleazy fun and the supplements are fantastic. The encode is rather shit, though, but it is what it is.

I've only seen Deadtime Stories and it's pretty dreadful.

They have a new set price for there titles and if vendors do not sell them for this prices they will no longer receive stock. Literally every new collectors edition that is coming out is priced at 29.99-34.99 when you used to be able to get them for 20. He only place I've noticed that selling them at reasonable prices is (redacted) and I'm sure Scream will shut that shit down soon.

They will if people keep talking about. First rule of buying Scream Factory releases at a fair price in 2018...

I’ll still probably buy a few titles from the sale, but I was about to finally get the second Vincent Price set at $35 until I noticed that Amazon is selling it for only $2 more at $37, which would come out to less with free Prime shipping. I had to make an Amazon order anyway, and I couldn’t pass this up at such a low price. I don’t have Vol. 1, but I really just wanted the original House on Haunted Hill anyway. Last Man on Earth, Return of the Fly, and The Raven are just bonuses. If I ever want House of Usher and Pit & the Pendulum bad enough, there are region free German and Austrian releases.

I'm not surprised by the raised prices. Maybe inflation has something to do with it but their "Shocktober" sale has been declining over the last couple of years. This year they're trying to fool everyone with 100 titles on "sale" at once. Oh and you only get one week. SO HURRY!! Shocktober use to be amazing. I kind of regret not purchasing more back in the day because as it stands now this is a pass.

It's not an inflation thing, the same titles are cheaper if you order them direct. They're just trying to get more people to order direct from them.

Thanks to everyone who replied about the Critters & Ghoulies films. I decided to go ahead & blind buy them. Pre ordered the Critters set from SF & ordered the Ghoulies double feature from Amazon.

I've never seen Prince of Darkness. Is it a no brainer blind buy for someone who loves The Fog, Halloween, The Thing, They Live, Escape From New York, Assault on Precinct 13, etc.?

If you enjoy Carpenter's other films I think it's a safe bet you'll also like Prince of Darkness.

Absolutely. Top 5 Carpenter film for me.

For the Shocktober sale, I'll probably get Slumber Party Massacre, Assault on Precinct 13 steelbook, and maybe Return of the Living Dead II. The first two are around $14 and ROTLD2 is "only" $20.

The only individual Scream Factory movies I've paid more than $30 for are Carrie and Black Christmas, and only because I absolutely adore both, and they both came with posters and, in Carrie's case, an extra slip. I want both ROTLD2 and Scream For Help, but $30 for those seems almost laughable.

The prices will drop eventually.
The sales numbers and profits will be down this year, partially due to the increased prices and recent messed up shipping situation. At that point, Scream/Shout will be motivated to move the product, that they did not sell. Their warehouse will be full of unsold product. Scream/Shout have turned off a lot people recently, and there is no way that the Sales Numbers will be great this year. Prices will drop in time.

Which titles has NEW 4K Scans on the steelbooks that are not in the "regular" editions?
  • Night of the Demons
  • The Thing (2017 4K Scan)

and???

I really hate that about SF in some way the force to us to buy the Steelbook, I don't like steelbooks, I prefer the "old" artworks and the original artwork inside but I possibly want the new scans.

I wish you were correct but I’m very skeptical this will turn out true.

They’ve had a solid slate of titles in the back half of this year. Compare 2017 to 2018 – it’s night and day. There are still tons of people willing to purchase these titles even at these absurd price points. I feel, unfortunately, that this will offset their screw ups.
