I think people see what they want to see since it has the cast that it does. I firmly believe that had it come out in the 80s it would be a much loved classic.

Don't forget that Kevin Williamson wrote about 60% of the screenplay for IKWYDLS as well.

I would love if Scream would be able to release this and the first sequel. I would definitely break my no-future preorders rule for those two releases.

(Watching the third film once was more than enough).

I'd like Collectors Editions of "I know What You Did Last Summer" and "I Still Know What You Did Last Summer as well"

Day 1 Purchases !

I don't think the 90's slashers are bad, they're just different from the standard slashers. Both eras have good and bad slashers. Like I said, to me IKWYDLS has 90's slasher all over it but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

I was guesstimating because there were multiple rewrites and reshots after the fact.

It was actually an older screenplay that he had written before Scream and following that films success it was dusted off and rushed into production !

I honestly don't think there is much left Scream Factory could release that I really need. I have soured on collector editions that already have e releases and other than maybe Deadly Friend, JGTH and Jason X releases, Im kinda eh. Lionsgate has some I want but thats not happening from Scream. Saves me money anyway unless the release the above and some new horror title that I like.

Are you sure? I remember Williamson saying he was hired to adapt Lois Duncan's novel.

Yes, he adapted the novel but this was done prior to the release of Scream.
Once that film was released as became a huge hit IKWYDLS was rushed into production and promoted as being "from the creator of Scream", Dimension films took offence to that claim and sued saying that it would lead people to think that Wes Craven directed the film so it was subsequently changed to "from the writer of Scream".

It's great. Probably the "purest" of the revival slashers. My DVD has been in heavy rotation for the last 18 years. Will be glad to retire it at last.

Here's hoping we might finally see the uncut gore footage.

I also have to say Valentine is the purest SLASHER from the era. Really cool killer and premise and while it has some cuts made I think it’s pretty brutal and mean spirited (in a good way.) Doesn’t hurt that I love Marley Shelton though lol.

We are sorry to have to announce that we are going to miss our early ship target on Candyman and Urban Legend since the disc manufacturer is unable to deliver the product to us on time. We will get back to you with more information when we have a product delivery date. We don’t have a forecasted date for the goods to deliver at this time, but we have seen a pattern of shipments arriving in time to make the national street date.

We will also post a note on the product page on our website when the product arrives in our distribution center.

Candyman: https://www.shoutfactory.com/product...roduct_id=6876

Urban Legend: https://www.shoutfactory.com/product...roduct_id=6880

The manufacturing plant is getting closer to being able to deliver to us on time and have communicated that we should start to see a normal shipping schedule before year’s end. We hope that they can get there sooner, but until they do, we will do our best to keep you informed and deliver your orders as soon as possible.

We appreciate your patience. We have more exciting titles lined up for 2019 (some which we’ll be announcing soon) and your support and enthusiasm for them is something we don’t take for granted.
Just got the above email from Scream Factory. I'm not exactly surprised, but I am grateful they are giving us advanced warning and I'm just not sitting here hoping it shows up.

I'm still holding out hope that the Critters Box ships on time. That has been my most anticipated release of the year...

I like this line from the e-mail ! "We have more exciting titles lined up for 2019 (some which we’ll be announcing soon)"

Valentine was an awesome announcement, I'm looking forward to what else they have up their sleeves.

I forgot to mention I received Single White Female yesterday, finally in a package that suited the actual item. Thick, padded envelope.
