Easy choice for me. No way I'm paying those prices from any retailer regardless of how big or obscure the title is.

I wish Grindhouse Video the best of luck and hope this situation doesn't harm him financially. I enjoy watching his weekly updates and would love it if this extra publicity gains him more viewers and actually leads to increased sales.

Is it legal to enforce MAP pricing on other retailers, but not on your own storefront?

The continued downfall of the Shout! Factory is actually very entertaining to me.

I hope, by some divine intervention, Arrow gets to do a Elm Street box set. They'd give that series its due.

I’m gonna keep bombarding them with posts on heir Facebook pages and emails. This company has really gone down hill. Wish somebody else would have got that Warner deal now.

I am seriously thinking of starting an Instagram campaign. Is anyone else out there doing anything like this yet?

I made people aware of the video via my Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Should be interesting because Jeff Nelson follows me on all of those platforms, so I'm expecting a response at some point.

Shout's new anti-consumer tactics are troublesome but I don't see anyone talking about not having the option to purchase a non-poster edition through their site - something that irks me just as much as the price gouging. The prices on Shout's site are lower than Amazon but factor in the forced poster and the needed extra large shipping container plus the exorbitant shipping and you've got a product that EXCELS Amazon's almost-full MSRP pricing. My copy of Valley Girl came out to $37+ and they even shipped it to the wrong address. BTW, why the hell do they charge $6.99 for shipping? Is Shout TRYING to put themselves out of business?

I follow over 2000 people, so I'd have to scroll for 20 minutes to see everyone's stuff everyday. I assure you it's nothing personal. What your IG handle? I'll try and make a point of checking your page more often.

First there was that whole Return of the Living Dead 2 debacle where you couldn't pre-order from small retailers now this. Don't know what's going on with Scream Factory lately, they should be called out on this kind of stuff.

They definitely need to be called out on it. Everybody should be vocal about their displeasure. Better yet, people need to stop buying their product at these prices. THAT will be the difficult one for most people. They admittedly have some very strong titles being released. Hitting them in the wallet is really the only way they will listen, as they've shown that's all they care about.

The one thing I 100% agree with and understand is punishing retailers for sending stuff out or selling it prior to the release date. Not only does that hurt their sales and give less incentive for people to buy directly, but it could potentially get them in trouble with the people they're licensing from. Luckily, I've had no problems with any of the stuff I've pre-ordered from Amazon.ca so far. House on Haunted Hill would be the most recent. Have Candyman and UL2 preordered. The prices are a little more than what I was paying in the past, but nothing too crazy. I've always had to be selective when ordering their titles. I likened the increases to the prices of video games over the years. It costs $80 for new release games now, where it used to be $50 or 60. Where I draw the line would be stuff like receiving the wrong items, damaged items, defective, etc. It seems like they're making an effort to make everything right but I can't speak first hand. I've had to order a couple replacement discs over the years and never had any issues. Maybe the recent shipping/quality issues are related to the disc pressing issues and it's all managed through the same facility? In reality, they're really only hurting themselves here. Angering the fans (although I still think we need to give it a little time) but also the costs of having to replace items, more shipping, etc. Bunch of random thoughts crammed in there but in the end I think some good communication would go a long way here.

This.

I want Dracula, Prince of Darkness really bad, but you know what? It's a triple dip for me. And believe me, they will press plenty of these things. They will be around for years to come. And then one day, they will be sent to Hamilton Books or price slashed. Until then, I can survive on my previous blu ray.

Do NOT pay these prices.
