The HD presentation of Wes Craven's Deadly Friend that aired on TCM in October wasn't as great looking as I was hoping, but i still think this means there's a chance it'll get a Blu-ray release in 2019. Until it does, I will not be deleting it from my DVR, though my wife wants to switch cable providers, so I may lose it soon.

Is there a way to digitally save something that was DVR'd? Sorry...off topic. I'll check Google maybe.

A Jawbreaker release would be awesome, BTW. I always enjoyed that movie.

I would assume there is a way to save your DVR recordings to a separate device, considering some things I’ve seen out there. But Google is your friend in this case.

What was the running time of that Deadly Friend broadcast?

Now that it's confirmed Arrow will be releasing Cruising I'm crossing fingers Scream will tackle The Hitcher, The Witches, Deadly Friend, Child's Play 2 & 3, Tremors, A Kiss Before Dying or Pacific Heights at some point.

Yes. As stated in the Creepshow thread, let's put this to bed once and for all. This is not a Scream Factory "mistake". This is inherent in the track. It is what it is.

I don't think they should have to do a replacement based off of this.

We ultimately can't have it both ways. As collectors, we demand total perfection, but then complain about prices. Scream certainly has made some mistakes, but if we demand replacement programs on things like this that aren't even really their fault, we are contributing to higher prices and whatnot.

We want them to release top movies on their label and that comes with a cost as well in this era of almost post physical media.

I've seen the complaints about scratched Trick R Treat discs as well...yet, I've also seen people selling the discs on Facebook when they've gotten their replacement saying, "it has scratches on the inner ring that don't affect playback in any way". That's a cash grab to me.

Again, Scream has made some mistakes, but I also believe the collectors are also pushing on some unreasonable things as well.

The comment being replied to wasn't that Scream messed it up, it was that it isn't messed up it's a "preference".

I don´t think you can see it like that. SF is the company who is putting the product out for us customers to buy. So they have to be the one who take care of a flawless product. As simple as that. If you buy a new Mercedes, you would never say: "Yes, the brakes didn´t work properly, but they came from a different company not Mercedes themself, so it´s clearly not their fault - leave them alone you haters!" If there´s an audio issue, they should take care of it. Gladly for me it doesn´t matter that much in this case, because I prefer the original Audio (also: They don´t replace ANYTHING for international customers like me; so that´s always fun). But I can totally understand, that for 35-40$ one would expect a flawless product, nothing less...

Uh no. These car analogies are stupid and pointless. Mercedes puts out their own automobiles. Scream Factory licenses these films from other studios, WB gave them the 5.1 soundtrack. Only thing SF could have done was leave off the 5.1 completely but of course people would cry about that as well. No win situation for SF.

This. Total no win scenario. It's not their movie. They are only the licensee.

Some studios don't allow new transfers. So, why does everyone think they'd be allowed to do a new audio track? They are often limited on these things.

Yeah they gave us Creepshow, by far the best it’s ever looked. The original audio sounds great and the extras are amazing. Nice slipbox and booklet, yet people complain about a 5.1 track that was alway problematic. Just glad it’s selling well so we get more great releases.
The Critters set is awesome so far as well, blind bought it and loved the 1st movie. We are watching part II later.

Same here!
With every new release purchase, there is the concern IF Shout f*cked it up somehow.

Arrow posted on facebook today their hint at tomorrow's titles and it was a car trunk with jumper cables, a battery and some other stuff in it. Someone felt that implied a Hitcher announcement was close. We'll find out tomorrow, but it feels like before 2019 is over we'll likely be getting that film from someone. As for the rest of your list... I'm right there with you on Deadly Friend, Child's Play 2/3, The Hitcher, Pacific Heights and Witches.

Since the Hitcher is coming from Nameless, we can bet someone else has rights to it, too. Be nice to see the Hitcher come from Arrow, finally. Nowadays, if Arrow and Scream are releasing the same title I go with Arrow every time. Foolish not to. I'll admit that it would be cool to see the Hitcher come from Scream, but I'm hoping it's Arrow. Can't beat that packaging, and those transfers.

A person also has to wonder what connections were made last year when they published the "Hitcher" book. Perhaps that work/research lead to them making contacts with the right people to move forward with the film itself. It also makes you wonder if the materials they used to prep the book won't also be included in some fashion in a potential blu ray release.

I’m all for Tremors & they do a collection like Critters, but with 6 movies I’m sure it’ll be pricey & plus there’s a chance another movie could be on the way. Deadly Friend would be awesome, is that the one with Kristy Swanson? With the head taken off by a basketball? Probably my favorite death scene ever lol.

The Critters Collection arrived in the mail yesterday.

Munchies/Munchie arrived in the mail today.

This is a good week for diabolical small creatures.

Why are Scream Factory prices so expensive now? I used to preorder the titles I wanted from Amazon almost immediately and they would often get down below $20 when release day hits. There's no way I'm going to start paying $35+ for these titles. Did I miss something on a price hike?

German distributor Nameless also released the 1994 Ray Liotta flick No Escape, which I own, but there's no sign of it coming stateside so I wouldn't put too much stock in Hitcher coming. Rights are complicated so one film being released in one country doesn't necessarily mean it'll receive a counterpart here. I feel like The Hitcher is the kind of movie that would've been released already if the rights ownership were clear. I think it may be one of those situations where the rights are unclear. Maybe Universal just have TV rights? Or they had a limited home video partnership or something. It's the same deal with Near Dark. Some say the producers own the rights.
