Yes, this guy is serious. Would you care to elaborate on the price increase or just want to keep being a dick?

And apparently, some retailers (Best Buy, Walmart, Target) told them to shove it.

Wow, I see now. Check out this video below for an in depth explanation of the raised prices. If Shout is expecting $35/$40 for their titles then they are out of their *ucking minds. Even the $22 mark was still expensive but somewhat manageable. With Criterion sales four times a year (2 flash sales, 2 B&N sales), you can get A tier titles given the utmost treatment for around $20. There are several titles I have double-dipped on in the past because I liked supporting Shout and liked the extras and slipcovers and stuff, but I won't be doing that anymore at these prices. I was also going to get Candyman from them too, but I'll be giving Arrow my money every time now if these new pricing extremes are here to stay.

The Critters boxed set must have missed that memo...this sounds like the earlier rant just repeated. If I want a specific title they are selling bad enough Ill get it.

Considering all the issues/circumstances surrounding Shout/Scream now, I suppose the more sensible ones among us will also tell them to shove it.

A Walmart employee missed the memo. It was briefly listed at WM.com at their standard 30% or so off SRP, which Amazon matched. Then WM pulled their listing in a matter of hours, and the Amazon price shot back up to the “new normal”.

I've got a good enough relationship with a few online retailers who've all told me that Scream has made it impossible for them to stay competitive on their titles.

I bought the CRITTERS set through one of them anyway, because I think they're a great retailer. But aside from a few upcoming titles (SNDN 2 and Howling III), they're going to have to go on the backburner.

I've already supported Vinegar Syndrome for the entirety of 2019, and the rest of my spending money can go to everyone who isn't Scream... lord knows there's plenty of them right now.

Weird flex, Scream Factory.

You literally picked the one release from the last couple of months that the MAP pricing was broken by Walmart and price matched by Amazon.

Remember the good old days when we complained about Vestron listing their titles at $30?

The error occurred around 11pm Central time on 11/20. By 9:30pm CST on 11/21 the price had been fixed. So yes, it may have been longer than a few hours, but the point he was making is still accurate. This was a pricing error that Walmart corrected in under 24 hours that several of us took advantage of and is not representative of a change in policy or pricing by Shout Factory.

You guys are ridiculous and have far to much time on your hands to be pinpointing exact times lol. Here is a tip...dont buy them if the prices seem to high. Nobody is making you buy anything. To go on and on and on is just child like.

I still had the order e-mail handy and the time when the price was increased was posted in the Critters thread. It only took me a few moments to locate that info.
