"Too Much Time On My Hands" is a great song.
Now I am going to listen to my Styx "Paradise Theatre" cd, loaded on my Ipod.

I find it funny that the majority of the people hating on scream factory still post in this thread daily. Why would you want to hang around a thread for a company you don't like?

I just miss any other form of discussion that isn't one giant circle jerk of negativity.

These are the same people also posting regularly in the Vinegar Syndrome, Code Red, Arrow, Scorpion, Kino, and Severin threads. These are forum regulars that have both positive and negative things to say about the various labels' handling of their favorite cult films. You see a circle jerk of negativity, and I see evidence of Shout taking nearly every step to alienate their customer base.

Why are people still posting in this thread? Because Shout is releasing movies that we love, they're just doing a lackluster job and that is frustrating for such a niche market.

If Pacific Heights is like any of the other Morgan Creek films of late, it's going to come from Sony, like Freejack, Stay Tuned, and Young Guns II.

Not liking their change in direction with pricing/availability, shipping problems, ignoring/not fixing disc errors, etc doesn’t make you a “hater”. Some people here that are branded “haters” have more SF discs than the people that defend them.

Got my Critters set last night, which came in mostly great shape. The packaging itself was fine, but the 3rd movie had finger prints on the back? A couple people have reported the same in the Critters thread. I got it for $48.99 Canadian, which is a pretty good deal in my eyes!

Speaking about good deals, amazon.ca just had a bunch of price drops on their Shout titles for those interested. My pre-ordered of 8MM dropped to $24. On the fence about the Howling 3 at $24. Not sure I'll even like the movie, but I have the others so it's tempting! Either way, decent pricing on a bunch of titles so for Canadians sitting on the sidelines check it out!

I feel like The Hitcher is the kind of movie that would've been released already if the rights ownership were clear. I think it may be one of those situations where the rights are unclear. Maybe Universal just have TV rights? Or they had a limited home video partnership or something. It's the same deal with Near Dark. Some say the producers own the rights.
No Escape AKA Escape from Absolom was also released region free this year from Umbrella

To keep the complainers happy since I like to please, I kind of wish the Critters set came in something like the Leprechaun set. Seems like a shelf hog as is. Leprechaun set is nice and tidy.

Apologies for such a delayed response, but it's time block was for an hour and 45 minutes, however, I'd say credits were rolling around an hour 35-ish. I'd have to double check to know for sure. Plus, there may have been a few channel-specific credits/ads prior to the start.

I hope this gets some TLC and it's possible to release the Director's Cut of it, or at least deleted/alternate footage, but who knows if that even is possible.

I think the reason many continue to come here and post negative comments is they know that companies such as Shout read these boards daily to monitor their customer base. Companies pay thousand of dollars for market research, and blu ray companies can come here and get it for free. Those of us who aren't happy with the direction Shout is taking want them to know it, and also want them to know why.

With that said, the only real way to change their behavior is not to give them your money. I made purchases with Severin, Vinegar Syndrome, Scream Team Releasing, and Epic pictures directly through their sites this year with their excellent Black Friday sales. I purchased a ton of Arrow titles through their Barnes and Noble sale over the past month. I didn't purchase a single Shout title during Black Friday week. They have several titles I would love to own, but until they discontinue their current policies which only punishes their customers they won't be receiving any of my business.

It should be obvious. We like the movies just not the company releasing them.

I keep coming back to this thread to see if anything has changed. There are many titles that I had to skip for the October and November titles (and a couple upcoming December titles). I want them, but I can't afford the price. So, I keep coming back, hoping that there is some news that Shout has come to their senses and reverted back to normal pricing. And if they do, I want to know, so I can then buy the newer Shout/Scream titles that I want but can't afford at the current prices.

That's why I keep coming back, and continue to be disappointed that nothings changed.
