I scored a couple Scream Factory releases on Second Spin yesterday. They had a one day 40% off sale on all blus and DVDs. Got Dawn of the Dead for about $14, Windows for under $10 and The Moderns (Shout Select) for just over $10. There were a few other titles around the same prices but they were ones I already owned. I got to the sale a bit late so I'm sure I missed out on other titles. But I figure it's the only way I'll be buying Shout or Scream anytime soon. I haven't seen Valley Girl anywhere for under $25.

Don't worry!

Im sure once Arrow, Criterion, Vestron all inevitably raise their pricing as a sign of the times with dropping physical media sales, all the negative people will merge together into one giant critters people ball stating "I use to buy movies for under 15 bucks". They'll then explode and the rest of us can all live happily ever after.

Wait am I talking about real life or Critters 2 here?

I'm sure most of you already have seen this post but here were two more announcements made on facebook earlier today for March from the IFC Midnight line.

Quote:
We are proud to announce that we have two new IFC Midnight titles planned for release on Blu-ray & DVD on March 5th!

THE CLOVEHITCH KILLER - Tyler Burnside (Charlie Plummer, All The Money In The World) is a Boy Scout, a volunteer at his local church, and the dutiful son of an upstanding, community leader dad (Dylan McDermott, American Horror Story). Only one thing troubles the quiet Kentucky town he lives in: the unsolved murders — in which ten women were brutally tortured and killed by a psychopath known as Clovehitch — that rocked the community more than a decade ago. When Tyler discovers a cache of disturbing images in his father's possession, he begins to suspect that the man he trusts most in the world may be Clovehitch … and that his deadly rampage may not be over. With unrelenting tension, director Duncan Skiles crafts a picture-perfect vision of the American family … and then rips it to shreds.

WELCOME TO MERCY – A young woman struggles against the unholy forces that possess her in this terrifying occult thriller. After being stricken with stigmata, single mother Madaline (Kristen Ruhlin) is sent to a remote convent where nothing is what it seems and her friend August (Lily Newmark) is seemingly the only person she can trust. Together, they must confront the demons inside Madaline before she becomes the Anitchrist!

We hang out in all the forums. We aren't exclusive SF thread cheerleaders.

Clovehitch Killer is great. That and Ghost Stories are the best IFC Midnight releases I've seen.

Arrow and VS have seen slight price increases as well, but these studios at least have real sales, through them or a retailer. For example, here’s the order for Arrow titles I made yesterday at Barnes & Noble....

Quote:
Madhouse $15.99
Basket Case $15.99
Doom Asylum $15.99
Re-Animator $13.99
Deadbeat at Dawn $15.99
Children of the Corn $15.99
Donnie Darko $13.99
12 Monkeys $15.99
And I took advantage of Deep Discount’s B1G1 Vestron sale a couple of months ago, getting them for an average of $16 each.

Meanwhile, SF is having a Christmas “sale”, and a 2 year old release like Black Christmas is still selling for over $20 on “sale”.

*Complains about Shout and says never going to purchase from them again* *Makes request for title from Shout* *Shout comes through and releases title* *Complains about price* *Pre-orders as soon as possible* *Complains about features, slipcover art, etc.* *Brags about getting a shipping notice* *Complains about delays* *Brags that it's finally been shipped* *Complains about bent poster* *Brags about getting the movie* *Shout sends a replacement and gives a credit out of good will* *Complains that it shouldn't have happened* and repeat.

Something like that...

Has anyone actually been stubborn enough to pass on one of their most wanted titles because of anything? I was never in that boat because I've never had issues through amazon, but just curious.
