Scream Factory Blu-ray Discussion Thread

I grabbed Silent Night Deadly Night part II today at Sunrise Records!! It was cool to just walk in and get it on release day.

I scored a couple Scream Factory releases on Second Spin yesterday. They had a one day 40% off sale on all blus and DVDs. Got Dawn of the Dead for about $14, Windows for under $10 and The Moderns (Shout Select) for just over $10. There were a few other titles around the same prices but they were ones I already owned. I got to the sale a bit late so I'm sure I missed out on other titles. But I figure it's the only way I'll be buying Shout or Scream anytime soon. I haven't seen Valley Girl anywhere for under $25.

Im sure once Arrow, Criterion, Vestron all inevitably raise their pricing as a sign of the times with dropping physical media sales, all the negative people will merge together into one giant critters people ball stating "I use to buy movies for under 15 bucks". They'll then explode and the rest of us can all live happily ever after.

Clovehitch Killer is great. That and Ghost Stories are the best IFC Midnight releases I've seen.

Arrow and VS have seen slight price increases as well, but these studios at least have real sales, through them or a retailer. For example, here’s the order for Arrow titles I made yesterday at Barnes & Noble....

Madhouse $15.99
Basket Case $15.99
Doom Asylum $15.99
Re-Animator $13.99
Deadbeat at Dawn $15.99
Children of the Corn $15.99
Donnie Darko $13.99
12 Monkeys $15.99

And I took advantage of Deep Discount’s B1G1 Vestron sale a couple of months ago, getting them for an average of $16 each.

Meanwhile, SF is having a Christmas “sale”, and a 2 year old release like Black Christmas is still selling for over $20 on “sale”.

Something like that...

Has anyone actually been stubborn enough to pass on one of their most wanted titles because of anything? I was never in that boat because I've never had issues through amazon, but just curious.
