Being as Mill Creek have already done Fanatic (AKA Die! Die! My Darling), I can't see Scream having another go at it. Also Captain Kronos is with Paramount (along with Frankenstein and the Monster From Hell), so they're two movies we won't be seeing from Scream any time soon.

Yes - I envy you Americans when it comes to Warner Archive. Those 4/44 sales are awesome. They have so many titles I'd love to pick up one day but pricing is not really consistent in Canada. All the sellers on Amazon.ca are 3rd parties so you really have to keep an eye on them. Sometimes you can get them for low 20s, but a lot of the time they sit around Shout prices ($25-30). It would be really nice if Shout would bring back their sales from 5+ years ago. The foundation for my Shout collection started from one of those sales, I picked up about 20 titles at once. It was a better time when sales were good and our dollar was almost even. I feel like that would put them closer in line with Warner, Arrow, Criterion, etc. who have great sales once in a while. Even if it's once a year. Maybe a 4/44 type deal on the non-collector's editions and a 50% off on the Collectors.

Boy what a year we had for Scream Factory and we should be thankful! i mean WB, Sony, Corman deals.
Great restorations to Candyman, Critters 1 and 2, It's Alive, House on Haunted Hill 1999 and some others. Finally putting Brainscan, Critters movies, House on Haunted Hill 1999, Its Alive, Return of the Living Dead part 2 and others on BD at last. |

At least your posts make me laugh so I’ll give credit when it’s due. It was a good year for Shout release even with the shipping issues. I have no regrets about any of the purchases I made. This next year is looking like another solid one for Shout already with 8mm, Cobra, Valentine & The Craft coming soon.

That's how I feel about the 2019 announcements so far. They've given me some breathing room to catch up on some older Scream Factory releases as well a bunch of Vinegar Syndrome stuff. I think I have around 17 titles I'm hoping to pick up from them at this point in 2019 and I'm sure that number is only going to grow if I don't start knocking it down soon.

There was a ton of stuff released that I wouldn't buy, but other people seem happy with. Overall, I'd say it was a good year as well. I am very happy with some their releases (Candyman, 8mm, Valentine, etc.) which I've wanted for years. Really took care of a few of my largest requests. Also not overly happy with the focus of the re-issues though. I don't double dip just because it's a Shout release and I barely have enough time to watch the movies I want let alone special features. But again, makes some people happy so no fuss here, I just don't buy them.

Did I miss something, was The Brain announced for a Feb release ? I just came across this new pre-order listing on this site.
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/The-B...lu-ray/227928/ It's an Amazon Canada listing, I don't see a US listing yet. You guys think this is a mix up on Amazons part or is there something to this ? |

Hopefully they don't punish Amazon Canada now. Don't want to be paying any more than I already am lol |

I wonder if this was planned for February but has now been bumped to April or later. It seems odd that it wouldn't have formally been announced if it is coming in February. Perhaps this is another situation like the Robert Rodriquez "Veinte" set that popped up last month and was an older project that Amazon has incorrectly listed.

To be quite honest, even though I wasn't going to purchase any SF titles until they got their act together I've come to terms that the only way I'm going to be able to get certain titles is by SF, I have to say that even with the frustration of QC issues with a lot of releases this year they have had a good amount of solid releases as well. Single White Female, Dragnet, Creepshow (though they should've caught the 5.1 audio issue from the Second Sight release before putting it on the disc) and Matinee (one of the best releases of the year IMHO) just to name some. When I watch those I think of how great SF could be if they would just take the time for QC. Still no excuse for the screwed up releases and the shipping/pricing fiasco but just felt like pointing out some of their great releases that I am happy with as well.

I went ahead and asked them on Facebook and... "There is no release of "The Brain" planned for February". It'll pop up later in the year hopefully.
