Yes, please no more Chucky releases. Let's get some other stuff out on Blu.

I started watching THE BRAIN on Shout Factory TV.

Black & white opening credits citing Freddie Francis as director... This BRAIN: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Brain_(1962_film)

Perhaps listings are mixing up the 1988 film with Francis' 1962 film?

The only way new SF releases of Childs Play 2 & 3 would be worthwhile is if they have the alternate TV cuts for 2 & 3 or else why bother? If no new cuts are included id just skip them like I did with the SF release of the first & stick with the boxset I have now.

I can respect that thought, but Child's Play 2 & 3 have never had comprehensive collectors editions. The amount of material that is available for these two films would be staggering and would far and away make for some of the best Collectors editions Scream Factory produced if they went after most everything. Tv cuts would be a given seeing as how they have some substantial changes to the films. Beyond that though consider the type of documentary that could be produced for parts 2 and 3 would be epic. These are really well done practical effects films done at the pinnacle of that era in film making. I have no doubt that there could be some wonderful materials included. Chucky was also starting to become a media darling at the time and there are numerous EPK and other fun special appearances that could/should be included. I have a few of these items saved myself but having them included in a comprehensive package would be great. I would think that most of the cast is likely to contribute to new commentary's considering so many of them have returned to their roles in the new films and the possibility is their for Horror's Hallowed grounds and/or other fun materials as well. Here's how in theory new releases could work...

Child's Play 2:

Disc 1:
-New 2k/4k Scan of the Negative (or as close to that as Universal Allows)
-3 New Commentaries.
-Solo by by Brad Dourif in Chucky persona
-Standard Cast and Crew
-One from an effects standpoint
-Deleted Scenes
-Original Trailers
-Red Shirt pictures Documentary on the impact/production of the film
-Image Gallery of Posters from Around the world and/or home media releases

Disc 2:
-The TV Cut (HD with SD inserts unless the cut footage exists in HD somewhere)
-Interviews with Brad Dourif
-Interviews with John Lafia (Director)
-Interviews with Alex Vincent & Christine Elise
-Interview with Don Mancini
-Electronic Press Kit videos (Chucky trying to sell retailers on the new Child's Play 2 VHS for instance)
-Various guest appearance spots Chucky popped up in during this time (Award shows etc.)
-Horror's Hallowed Grounds segment
-Special Feature with Trick or Treat Studios on the production of the new replica Chucky Doll on sale in February 2019.

Child's Play 3:

Disc 1:
-New 2k/4k Scan of the Negative (or as close to that as Universal Allows)
-3 New Commentaries.
-Solo by by Brad Dourif in Chucky persona
-Standard Cast and Crew
-One from an effects standpoint
-Deleted Scenes
-Original Trailers
-Red Shirt Pictures Documentary Part 2 continuing on the impact/production of the film
-Image Gallery of Posters from Around the world and/or home media releases

Disc 2:
-The TV Cut (HD with SD inserts unless the cut footage exists in HD somewhere)
-Interviews with Brad Dourif
-Interviews with Jack bender(Director)
-Interview with Don Mancini
-Electronic Press Kit videos
-Horror's Hallowed Grounds segment
-Special feature on the merchandise of Chucky and his lasting appeal

I get that special features aren't going to be for everyone, but how anyone that is a fan of Child's Play/Chucky would look at a list like that and not be a little bit excited/intrigued is crazy to me.

To be honest, if I could get 1428 Films to release a Comprehensive Documentary titled "Friend's till the End" I'd be just as happy, but at this point a potential Scream Factory release of each film seems more likely.

Great write up TripleHBK ! I also want Collectors Editions of Child's Play 2 & 3, I've been holding off on getting the individual release from Universal, hoping that Scream would eventually release Collectors Editions

I hope it's the 1988 version. Love that film and truly think it's underrated. Needs more of a modern audience.

A video store near me says they have this listed as a Universal release.

Not sure, but I need to be thanking them. Wanted to pick up Urban Legends, but didn't want to pay 30+ for it. But now I pick that up and Final Cut. Been awhile since I've seen either one of them, so looking forward to them. Now if only The Exorcist 2, Candyman, & SNDN2 could drop a little.

Also, received my Return of the Living Dead 2 from amazon today and it looked like it took a BEATING. Usually it's never this bad for me. But luckily they already sent a replacement. Not even going to open it, thinking about just giving it away.

Woo hoo! I just placed an order for Urban Legend at that great price. I also had a 5% coupon attached to mine, so it basically covered tax. I'm really looking forward to that lengthy documentary on the disc.

Okay. I signed up for a 7-day free trial for Shout Factory TV on Amazon just to be able to play this video and confirm it's the one it's the one it's listed as. And, as listed in your link, Amazon's SFTV channel is streaming the 1988 BRAIN!

For some reason I thought that the BRAIN on Amazon's Shout Factory TV app would be the same BRAIN playing over at Shoutfactorytv.com. What other services have Shout Factory TV as a subscription app? Someone want to check to see which BRAIN is playing on SFTV Roku?

Sweeeet. I jumped on this as well. I also had the 5% off coupon offer and then added a $5 gc I had to pick up the release for only $12.77.

Sweet, Urban Legend patience paid off. I shouldn’t be buying myself stuff before the holidays but $18 is pretty good all things considered with Scream lately.
