Projected pickups for 2019 (out of the known titles):

(I don't like to discuss stuff I've already purchased so decided to list future pickups instead)

Deadly Force
10 to Midnight (double dip for new scan)
Warning Sign (Shout's best announcement for 2019 so far IMO but still a double dip worthy of mention because of the upgrade from DVD)
Man's Best Friend
Screamers
Valentine (Pre-ordered at $23.63)
Cobra
Howling III (Pre-ordered at $21.72 but still think it's way overpriced for this movie lol)
Poison Ivy (Pre-ordered at $41.08)
Saturday the 14th (Pre-ordered at the absurdly low price of less than $16 but I think Amazon will realize it was a mistake and cancel)

Scream haven't announced much but there's a sizable amount of "classic" monster stuff that I'll never touch so that's a load off my back.

My 2018 Scream Factory purchases....

I don't have time to list them all, but there was basically a Scream Factory IV drip connected to my arm all year.

It was a great year for this label.

Another highlight of this movie is when Ricky walks down a suburban street and shoots every resident in his path. As a man walks out into his front lawn to take out the trash, Ricky yells, “Garbage day!”, and opens fire. This sequence is inanely over-the-top, but it's also universally relatable to anyone who has ever had a bad day.

Urban Legend

Amazon is showing URBAN LEGEND for 18 USD right now....with an estimated delivery of mid to late January...

I don't care about waiting a couple weeks, but I actually never caught that movie back when it came out.

Is it worth owning? Late 90s/early 00s teen slashers could be pretty hit or miss. Was this one of the better ones, and if so, what other slashers would it best be compared to?

I still haven't seen this (was hoping for a price drop for a blind buy), but I saw this clip and we need to shine more light on it!! Those stunt guys need ALL the credit. I don't know if it was the actor himself or a stunt guy, but his nonchalant side step out of the way of the vehicle is a bigger highlight to me than the ever-so-comical "Garbage Day!"

Shout is currently doing 15% off site-wide, which actually makes for some pretty decent deals considering prices lately.

I grabbed:
Candyman
TCM: The Next Generation
Exorcist II

$21.19 each and free shipping.

These are $30 each on Amazon.

It's pretty decent for a slasher movie in that era. It's similar to movie like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer. If you enjoy those you should like Urban Legend as well.

Hmmm. Might snag it at that price then.

I LOVE what Craven did with SCREAM. While I haven't seen LAST SUMMER in several years, I remember hating it....

But, at under 20, I'm probably willing to bank on it being more in line with SCREAM.

Urban Legend is a fun, decently made slasher for its era and I’m glad I purchased it at the discounted Amazon price... but man, that 2+ hour documentary was like watching paint dry. It was one of those featurettes where the people interviewed have nothing to say except, “it was an incredible experience!” or “he/she/they were so incredible to work with!” or “I absolute loved everything about this amazing, ground-breaking film!”

Don’t get me wrong, I’m glad everyone had a great time making the movie but it’s just not interesting to watch. Especially for 2.5 hours and especially when they speak about the film with such high regard that it comes across as if it’s some sort of masterwork. I wish Shout would provide more featurettes/documentaries/interviews like those on the Bordello of Blood release. That doc comes across as a real, honest and insightful look into the making of the movie. And if it’s a case where there’s simply nothing particularly interesting to say about the film in question, then perhaps try editing a bit.

Anyhoo.

I just watched it for the first time since it's theatrical release date and I flat out loved it. A very well done slasher.

I listened to both of the commentary tracks and watched all of the features, but, sadly, the car stunt in Silent Night, Deadly Night 2 is only discussed in passing. On the commentary tracks, Eric Freeman, who played Ricky, just says something to the effect of how close the car came.

The first Urban Legend is solid. It’s been a while since I first saw it, but, in terms of tone and atmosphere, it thankfully has more in common with I Know What You Did Last Summer than it does with Scream.
I’m looking forward to diving into my Blu-ray, but I’m waiting until Scream sends me the second me the second movie so that I can enjoy them together.

Speaking of which, I made a blind buy pre-order for Valentine, but I ordered it from Amazon instead of directly from the Scream/Shout site, along with Suburbia and The Poison Ivy Collection.
In the future, I’ll probably be more selective about what titles I order directly from the site, since Amazon prices tend to drop, and since I don’t need the posters for most titles.

EDIT:
I’m reminded that I ought to buy I Know What You Did Last Summer on Blu-ray. I’ve been hoping for a big re-release from Scream or somebody, though. I never did see the second movie, but the first one is a quality flick. Scream should put it out and bring in all of the cast for new interviews.

Where do Canadians around here buy their scream factory? The price is atrocious except on amazon.com and for canadians the exchange rate and the ridiculous shipping price isn't worth it. I'm looking at The thing steelbook for example. 18$ on amazon.com but on .ca its 36$. That's a huge difference.

I know this has been asked about a 1000 times but I looked back quite a few pages and couldn’t find the answer....what size frames are people using to frame the posters from the SE scream catalogue? I have gathered quite a few and have decided to frame and hang them and was just curious.....please post here or feel free to pm me with the info and thanks ahead!

The prices have really shot up in the past few months even for American buyers, but for us Canadians the prices on Amazon.ca have stayed pretty decent compared to our neighbours.

The prices fluctuate on Amazon.ca, here is an example I pre-ordered Naked Vengeance/Vendetta for $24.56 CAD, once it was released to price went up to $32.26 CAD and now they are asking for $26.99 CAD. On Amazon.com its selling for $24.99 US

The Thing Steelbook could very well drop in price on amazon.ca.

If you have a Sunrise Records near you, you can also check them out they carry Scream Factory.
