Getting spoiled by souped-up editions in slipcovers probably has something to do with it. I just feel like I'm closer to getting my money's worth if it's a Collector's Edition.
We all want dessert, but the main course is the important thing and WAC has a far better track record than Shout when it comes to their transfers.

So if my choices are an overpriced Scream release riddled with quality issues and padded by fluff or a budgeted flawless WAC presentation, that's an easy decision to make and it ain't the former.

Now if Shout could give us the best of both worlds, then that's cause for celebration, but there's reason for skepticism.

Any differences should come down to the encode. AFAIK, every Scream Factory release of a Warner title has been from a Warner-supplied master.

Warner Archive does have a pretty amazing track record, but they're not without their issues. The Black Scorpion is one of the most incompetently encoded titles I've come across in a good, long while.

This is how I feel. Especially if I'm saving $10 or more.

Warner Archive is doing amazing work with their Blu-rays. I'd much rather buy Judgment Night from WAC, with a nice transfer at $15, than with a questionable transfer and a slipcover (maybe) at $35.99 from Shout.

Another great year for SF. 2019 is already looking great, can’t wait for the next announcements.

I finally corrected an oversight that's been eating at me for a long time - I upgraded my Final Destination 1 and 2 DVD to Blu-ray and purchased 3 and 4 (already had #5). Now Scream Factory will announce a box set of all 5 films. Also did this now to head them off so I can tell myself I don't need an expensive re-release of the collection down the road. Bought all this for less than $17

huh did they release another title?

i think they have released some great titles this year. it's just their bad price policy, lack of communication, and treating customers like idiots that bugs me.

Yeah I just wait for sales now. Got Critters set for $43, The Thing Steelbook and
Urban Legend for under $20 from Amazon. SF site also recently had a 15% off sale ordered Candyman, TCM 4 and Single White Female for $62 shipped.

Smart move.

I just got the older releases of Cobra, The Craft and Kalifornia for less than one of the overpriced Scream releases.

If we really are going to compare the two labels in this regard, I’d be interested to see if you could name perhaps just two or three more problematic WAC discs, compared to Scream/Shout’s dozen or so.

I'd like to see that, too. SF just doesn't do that great of a job. But they release so many titles that we want.

Um I only own 2 WAC titles, how would I know? At least Shout fixes their issues. WAC doesnt even reply to all the complaints they received about Leatherface.
The pitch issue on Creepshow I’m guessing is also WB since Second Sights Blu-ray had the same issue.

You'd think they aren't even interested in keeping customers.

But then SF is forcing retailers to charge $30. I have dozens of WAC releases, and 95% of them are pretty phenomenal, and they can all be had for less than $20, and even $10 if you wait for their 4 for 40 sale.

Warner doesn’t have to pay to put out their own movies. And I just bought recent releases of Candyman. TCM NG, and Single White Female, for $61 free shipping no tax from SF.
Also bought Urban Legend and The Thing steelbook for $18 each from amazon. Also preordered their Valentine release from amazon for $22.
