I can only handle so much Peter Cushing...many of the Hammer films seem redundant. Im happy for you guys that love them though just not my thing. At least they are trying something different.

5% ?!?!

That doesn't even cover the tax.

So if I spend $50 for them to knock-off the ridiculous $6.99 shipping fee, I save a whopping $2.50?

I hope they keep them coming as well. They aren't something I am all that interested in right now, so these announcements make it easy for me to wait until these titles are available for a bit less later on. In the mean time I can use the money I'm saving and hopefully continue to pick up the backlog of Vinegar-Syndrome and Ronin Flix releases I neglected in 2018.

I was actually pretty angry when I saw this is my email box today. Insulting is an apt description.

I feel that 2019 is generally off to a bad start in terms of activity across the boutique labels. The Vestron line is drying up, Code Red is essentially being run into the ground and now Shout's pitiful "discount" that almost feels like they're mocking customers. The only labels doing anything fun are Vinegar Syndrome, Arrow and Scorpion. I wish Opera were out already but there's a reason it's delayed and I can live without it a while longer. To Shout's credit, they've never had a real sale before but, still, this is embarrassing.

We're in one of the worst times of the year from a shopping standpoint and it's still only the 7th day of the year. Have we ever had any truly great announcements during January? I agree with some of the sentiment in that the Hammer titles aren't exactly going to set the world on fire as they fall outside of that mythical time we all refer to as the 70's and 80's, but there is still clearly a market for these titles and the reality is that this is arguably the best time to announce these titles. Would you rather have them clogging up announcements during the late spring/early summer time frame placing these titles as late summer/early fall releases? Perhaps announcing them at comic-con? Can you imagine the disappointment if these were saved for July?

As far as 2019 being off to a rough start... I feel like we need to wait until at least February 1st to make that call. Scream Factory likely has announcements everyday this week planned, Vestron's current release pattern is nothing new so it's hardly surprising that we are still left waiting for there efforts, however we do know that they have at least 2 titles in the works right now which likely means that come March/April/May we'll be getting two titles on or around the same release date again. Code Red is down but hardly out. I have no doubt that they'll eventually return to some sort of full store front eventually. Vinegar-Syndrome is kicking butt right now with a lot of their output so it's their time to shine. Arrow is being Arrow in that their in a bit of a slump as they've lacked a real standout marquee release for the last few months, but again this is also nothing new as they ebb and flow as well with what they can & do release as well. I feel like 2019 is starting off pretty much the same way every year starts off... a handful of titles that folks aren't ecstatic over but are deserving of upgrades with better material yet to come.

So did I. I bought five movies. I was happy with that sale, and insulted with this sale. Way to go Shout, trolling your top customers.

Their 5th Anniversary sale in 2017 was great. Stuff was up to 50% off, if I remember correctly. I was able to score nearly a dozen titles that summer that I'd been wanting. That was the best sale I've ever seen them do.

I thought about it and dug into my old orders, and they used to have fairly decent ones every once in a while. I remember when two years ago they did a flash sale of NEW YEAR'S EVIL being $13 shipped. It wasn't on my radar, but I grabbed it and now I've watched it every NYE. That sense of fun is sadly gone. Even when the sale prices were "eh" at the Halloween ones, they'd offer something like The Vampire Lovers for $8 and it'd even out.

My order from their last sale arrived today, as if my back log wasn’t big enough after binging The Shield for a month.

Very happy to hear The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires is coming to Blu-ray, the old Anchor Bay DVD did not have great picture quality. I love Hammer and anything with Peter Cushing or Christopher Lee.

I agree with you on Scars of Dracula, it will be the only Hammer Dracula title missing from Blu-ray with Golden Vampires just announced and the recent Warner Archive release of Horror of Dracula.

I'm hoping The Reptile comes soon as well, the DVD I have is one of the worst picture quality wise for an official release. Also Dr. Jekyll and Sister Hyde would be much appreciated as I don't have it and the DVD is way too expensive.
