Is there where Shout got Knightriders and Day of the Dead from?
That is correct, by the time of Prison in 1988, Empire was already done and the film was given a limited theatrical release by the Eden Distribution Company.
New World Pictures released the VHS of Prison that same year.

Just watched "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" blu-ray, and I noticed Tom Savini plays the shop teacher. Much different from his usual horror roles as a shotgun victim (maniac... Erm!)!

It was an awesome movie...

I have a question in regards to The Burning Blu ray DVD combo.

Will The Burning also be on the DVD? or just the Blu ray?

No need to be rude. I only asked as I got mixed up and thought that The Burning came with The Evictor's on DVD, but then remembered thats Town That Dreaded Sundown.

To answer the question you meant to ask, The Evictors will be on the Town DVD but apparently not the BD.

That wasn't the question I was meant to ask. I thought The Evictors was the bonus DVD movie that came with The Burning, hence why I thought The Burning was just on Blu ray.

Is there any reason some of their releases are combo packs and some have the BR/DVD separately?

It just boils down to the agreements that are made from each studio. Certain films call for different forms of release strategies.

Frightener, whatever happened to that label you were gonna start? And is it REALLY expensive to do so?

ALSO -

Got my shipment of "Prison", "Video Dead/TerrorVision", "Deadly Blessing", and "Night of the Demons 2" today from bestbuy.com

Got "From Beyond" and "Phantasm 2" preordered.

I had to skip Deadly Blessing in January because I preordered Notd2, cujo, ticks, and running man. But I got it this month. I have all the SF titles on bd so far.

Scorpion announced that they're doing a blu-ray of "Silent Scream"!
Olive's doing "Witchboard 2". Walt seems "in-the-know" on olive's releases, so maybe they're gonna do "Evilspeak"...

Unfortunately, it's an incredibly costly endeavor and I just couldn't swing the funds to pull it off. My partner and I had many discussions with rights holders but for cost reasons, nothing worked out. Luckily, all the titles we were discussing with owners have been rescued by Scream Factory and Scorpion Releasing so all is well that ends well. Both companies are giving these flicks the best treatment they could possibly ask for so the fans really lucked out.

Olive handles Republic titles like Witchboard 2 and NOTD 2. They wouldn't have the rights to Evilspeak.

Well, certain titles we were inquiring about are many of the things that both those labels have saved like "TerrorVision", "The Video Dead" (which we were aiming to be our debut title if things worked out) plus others. We were also doing extensive research to discover the rights holders to a ton of other films lacking a release, many of which inspired us after we read "Destroy All Movies!!! The Complete Guide to Punks on Film" which is an insanely good resource for awesome cult films that have lacked a release but truly deserve one. A film that I've been personally dying to see released is "3:15 - The Moment of Truth", directed by Larry Gross and starring Adam Baldwin and Deborah Foreman.

Trust me though, the majority of the films we looked into have or are being released by Scream and Scorpion so they are in the best hands possible.

Yes! 3:15 - The Moment of Truth does need some love. It would be great to see this on DVD or blu-ray some day.

Yeah but I think the kid was talkin about how Walter from Scorpion said a company was prepping a BD release of "Evilspeak", and that since he's in the know on the Olive titles, it could be possible...

Right redrunner?

What would you say the price range would be for liscensing 1 film? Multiple?
I'm going to business school and my plan after is to open a home video/music label.

How much money would I probably need as a kick-off price?

Also, cinder you're right!
