Amazon shipped my copy of Saturday the 14th at their original sale price of $16.49 so I guess it wasn't a typo. Howling III was also in that order. I wouldn't mind the other Howling sequels but I prefer a box set

I know they did Death Wish 2 and that one film alone pushes the validity of my comments, however that film can easily be overlooked due to the rest of the over the top violence that plays out in an almost comedic fashion. The film is so over the top that the impact of the Rape(s) is lost in the rest of the experience... by the end you've almost forgotten what happened earlier on because you've been bombarded with non-stop action violence.

In the Entity the primary impact of the film comes from the assaults themselves. They are often prolonged, lack any humor, and are the focal point of the story. I think the film is wonderful and would actually fit reasonably well within the Scream Factory branding, but I think the content and emotional impact is a bit much for Shout Factory.
IMO, Naked Vengeance and Death Wish 2 invalidate your point.

The IFC relationship to me is more like the Paramount/Warner or MGM/Fox deals. Scream/Shout Factory is releasing these titles but they aren't "Scream Factory" productions. While officially part of the line, it's clear that the IFC releases are treated differently and viewed differently by Shout Factory which is why I don't believe any of those films are representative of Shout Factory's views. I'd question how much say they honestly have in choosing what to distribute to be honest. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it was IFC making all the decisions and Scream Factory simply was the avenue through which these titles were sold.
You're putting in a lot of work and exceptions to make your theory stick. It might just be a bad one.

A while back it was mentioned that Shout would be released 20th Century Fox's SHOCK TREATMENT (simi-sequel to Rocky Horror) - but nothing now...

If only they would.

Hell, I wish someone would.

(And yes, I'm quite aware the Arrow released it in the UK)

Is the collector's edition of Misery worth picking up for $16?

I'm not exactly chomping at the bit to double dip on this one at the asking price, but it is something I will consider picking up if I find a decent sale price on it eventually.

I really wish Shout Factory could get a deal with Paramount. As besides the obvious unreleased gems they are sitting on, this kind of release gives me hope that they (Shout Factory) would consider releasing the Paranormal Activity Franchise which would get me a legitimate copy of the original 2007 version of the first film as well as a chance to see the alternate version of the 3rd film with a new story arch and new footage.
A Paranormal Activity set wouldn't really interest me unless they could get the rights to Tokyo Nights and include it.

Yeah I wouldn't want a set unless it was the only way to obtain the 2 otherwise unreleased editions of parts 1 and 3.

That's kinda the point, I guess. Arrow only released it in the UK, so somebody has North American rights (presumably Shout).

I've never seen it, myself, but I'm a huge Rocky Horror fan, so I feel I need it, so I'm with ya'...

Somebody's gotta rease it.

I'd say all the WiP (Women in Prison) films that Scream has released are.

My first SF purchase of 2019 ended up being The Mangler . Looking forward to checking out the unrated cut. My first new release purchase from SF in 2019 though will be Screamers.

I pre-ordered the April titles from the Shout Factory site.

The Brain
Superstition
The Manitou
Paradise Alley
This Gun for Hire
Grave Of The Vampire
The Legend Of The 7 Golden Vampires
The Boris Karloff/Bela Lugosi Collection

Have any of you seen the two newer productions up for sale that month (Pledge and Rust Creek)?
I’m intrigued by them, but I want to research more first.

I kind of want to see RUST CREEK, which played in theaters here over the weekend, but I didn't make it. May poke around on-demand.

Finally got around to watching Scream For Help. Plays like a lurid fantasy, but in a good way. I can't believe SF released it; it's over the top in all the right ways.

I'm interested to see the remaining titles Shout licenced from StudioCanal, given that we know Kino also have some (Peeping Tom is likely with Criterion). The below titles are confirmed to be with StudioCanal in the US (there may be others):

Queen of Spades
Peeping Tom
Picture Mommy Dead
The Man Who Haunted Himself
And Soon the Darkness
The Nightcomers
Homebodies
Zoltan: Hound of Dracula
Murder by Decree
Cannibal Apocalypse
Road Games
Parasite
The Seduction

Slayground
Bloodmoon
Deep-Star Six

The Horror of Frankenstein
Scars of Dracula
Blood from the Mummy's Tomb
Dr Jekyll and Sister Hyde
Lust for a Vampire
To the Devil... A Daughter

Demons of the Mind
Straight on Till Morning
Fear in the Night

The ones in red are those I think we might see from Scream. We know they have some StudioCanal Hammers, but I'm not sure if they'll have all of them (that said, there are HD masters for the remaining 3, so they might just go for all the Hammer titles). In any case between various labels I'm quite confident we'll see all of the above released within the next year or so.

Pledge is on Amazon right now. I plan to watch it in the next few days as I have quite a string of Indie films I recently learned of or purchased from the last year that should be arriving in the next few days. (Pledge, Song of Solomon, The Midnight Man etc). Films I enjoy will be posted in the "Recommend a Horror indie film" thread but I'll try to post comments regarding Pledge here as well...
