If the speculation is accurate it will be another well received announcement.
I posted a few thoughts here about where that Jack Sholder interview might have come from. In sum, I think it has to have been conducted for Alone in the Dark, or at least for something we don't know about yet.

I thought there was conversation prior to the quote I linked to, but wasn't sure how far back I needed to go to find it. Thanks for sharing. I agree with your assessment in that something is very likely brewing with a potential announcement hopefully coming in the next few months.

We better be talking about Alone in the Dark with Christian Slater and Tara Reid

Hi all. I’m UK based and over the years have imported many Scream and Shout discs, they usually release titles that I’m very much into.

Haven’t picked up anything recently as I’ve noticed the prices around are ridiculous. As SF don’t like anyone outside the US and choose not to export the retailers that do and asking twice what they used to.
Was going to buy Valentine. Not sure I will now.

Have SF changed? Are they doing better discs to justify the price hike? They’re more expensive then known quality like Arrow, Indicator and any 4k UHD releases. Am I getting value for money or have they stayed the same mediocre hit or miss but prices raised for slipcover collectors?

It would be cool if Shout Select could land the 1989 Cop thriller Blue Steel starting Jamie Lee Curtis and RonnSilver.

Basically still hit or miss; it depends on the release. Their MGM remasters have been generally solid, especially "10 to Midnight" (though "Get Shorty" is a slap in the face since it's literally the old MGM release right down to the presentation and extras) but the Sony releases leave a lot to be desired since they can't do new scans themselves. Outside of "Creepshow", their Warner releases seem to be hit or miss as well; somebody else could probably chime in better than me on the Warner releases.

Thanks. I’ll keep an eye on eBay for a Valentine under £25.
Surprised about Sony as I find their releases and UHD especially really good quality.

Sounds like it’s just bleeding the customers to cover pay rises. Shame. Don’t mind if it’s guaranteed top level discs but if they’re still just. $15-$18 discs but almost doubled just for slip covers. Bye.

Man, Alone in the Dark (1982) would be a great release. I can see it happening as Shout! is working with Warner and it's right up their alley. Wouldn't be surprised if this was announced at Comic Con. (Hopefully with Jason Goes to Hell)

If they’re working with WB I’d love Shout to release Pacific Heights and White Sands. Dump my snap case dvds and hand over the cash (currently a lot of cash too)

There’s definitely something off with the audio on Valentine... I had to turn up my volume to level 73 before I felt like I could hear it normally, and even then it still feels oddly quiet. Usually, I only have to go up to somewhere between levels 15-20, with 23-25 being “too loud.” And I’m only using my TV speakers so there’s no receiver weirdness going on here.

Also, Valentine was a blind-buy based on Urban Legend impressing me more than I thought it would... but this was a thoroughly mediocre film and I’ll be selling it off soon. Oh well.

Never seen White Sands, but would be down for Pacific Heights. Now, all this talk of Alone in the Dark has really made me want this film on Blu-ray. Come on Shout!

Pacific Heights and White Sands aren't with Warner Bros anymore - should be with Sony now along with the other Morgan Creek titles.

I just happened to randomly think of White Sands the other day and how it's been years since I've seen it. Last time I did, DVD wasn't even around yet. Would love to revisit it, as I remember it being really good.

Depends on your state. I placed an order today and didn’t get charged tax.

I know fairly recent events have turned some of us off of SF, but I would not be able to say no if they did in fact announce an A Nightmare on Elm Street deluxe set. The Halloween set is one of my most prized possessions. A Nightmare set in the same vein would have to join it.

Back to what I said about SF: My enthusiasm level for their releases in general may have dropped, but I will still pick some up. I'm just more selective now/cautious with the ones I choose. I'm still considering grabbing Trick 'r Treat and the Critters Collection. I've been back and forth in regards to Valentine, but in light of the talk on here about the audio issue, think I will stay away from it. Money better spent elsewhere!

It depends, but the biggies are if it's a popluar title they've been after for a while, and weather Scorpion or Severin's video rights to said title had expired and it's rights holders are smart enough to offer it up to anyone who wants it.

Blue Steel was a Vestron title that while MGM did distribute and put out on DVD, is now with Vestron successor Lionsgate.

I know how much you all love hearing about Slipcovers so I thought I'd share that I received the first half of my Target Buy 2 get 1 order today. Today's order was for the "Get 1" portion which was Class of 1984. Much to my delight it arrived with a slip cover. Considering that title was released nearly 4 years ago I'd consider that a nice little cherry on top of an otherwise solid deal. Poltergeist II and Poltergeist III are set to arrive tomorrow and I have a fair amount of hope that both of these will arrive with slips as well. I'll be sure to report back as I know you're all like me and on the edge of your seat with anticipation.
