There's some speculation that the deal might be over. So far we've seen a grand total of 32 Shout titles licenced from Warner by my count. That's a nice even number for a deal, but something tells me there's more to come, mainly for two reasons:

1) George Reis' hints that Curse of Frankenstein and Crescendo are coming, but NOT from Warner Archive

2) The release of two Val Lewton titles. A while back Robert Harris said something to the effect that between Criterion and Scream, Val Lewton's films were in good hands. I can't see Scream licencing The Body Snatcher and not at least getting the other two Karloff titles, Isle of the Dead and Bedlam. I could see Criterion having I Walked With A Zombie, but The Leopard Man, The Seventh Victim, The Ghost Ship? I'm not sure but I'm not convinced we've seen the last of Val Lewton from Scream.

And in any case, of course there's always the prospect of a second deal...

(I saw our old friend dsman on Facebook the other day speculate that the deal 'was for about 2 dozen titles, it was a small deal, but better than none.' I've no idea where he got this info from (as we've seen, it's already well above two dozen titles). I remember when Criterion first started announcing Warner titles on a regular basis, and people were realizing that there was something go on there, but he still maintained that it was still just a case of special arrangements, and that Warner weren't licencing out. Down the years I've seen nothing to suggest he has any insider knowledge.)
It was around this time that the initial deal was finalized last year as we started getting Sony/Warner title announcements in July 2018. I wouldn't be surprised if another deal was being negotiated during these last few months which would explain the lack of title announcements recently, but would lend some credibility that more could be coming in the Summer/fall/winter.

Not to mention the probable raft of titles remaining in the deal with the Hammer estate. While they won't release everything, these six seem very likely, materials permitting in the case of the last two:

The Reptile
Rasputin, the Mad Monk
The Devil Rides Out
The Abominable Snowman

Either way, we still got high quality images of the artwork of which people could create their own covers if they really wanted.
Maybe. I can't think of why the Karloff/Lugosi estates would give permission to use likenesses, than reject the art.
More likely, they went ahead and used the likeness, then got a cease and desist letter in the mail when the families found out about it.

It's a good thing this happened now, rather then have it get released and then withdrawn, with a chance of just going OOP rather than reissued.

With the (supposed) new Fox deal, maybe we can finally get a CE of Shock Treatment from Shout!/Scream Factory.

Ordered a copy of Superstition direct from Shout and chose expedited shipping in hopes of getting it early. This and The Manitou are the only Shout titles I'm buying in the foreseeable future, sadly. A LONG way from a couple of years ago when it seemed like I bought at least 2 a month.

I've been debating doing the same but for The Superstition and The Brain. Someone mentioned on the last page or two that copies were shipping already, but no one was able to confirm. Please let's us know when you get shipping confirmation! I was super impressed with how quickly my titles from the Shout Select sale came in.

I noticed today that Shout Factory TV is showing Attack of the Crab Monsters. With the fact that they have been releasing some 50's horror and sci-fi lately, I hope that this means that we will soon see an announcement for a blu-ray release of this movie. Would love to have it on blu-ray !

March Madness sale is not too shabby. Will be able to get all the CE’s I had been waiting on for just under $20 each.

The original "Not of this Earth" is the one that I'm waiting for on Blu (if ever!).

Alright, I'm ready for an announcement or two. I'm feeling Cry Wolf coming this year and I'm ready to buy it.

It's been a long time since I got really excited for a new release announcement... (not just from Scream Factory, but from most anyone) which is sad considering that there are still a number of films out there that would get me quite worked up. July announcements last year were the start of the Sony/Warner titles so I'm hopeful that this July will prove just as exciting. (Come on Sorority House Massacre II).

Might be that they don't start announcing July's titles until next Monday. Let's just hope for no April Fool's hijinks...

This sale didn't use to exclude pre-orders.

That is too bad I could have benefited from the $200 threshold savings this year if it had included pre-orders, not by much but still better than what others are charging. Probably better off buying during the Barnes & Noble 40% sale anyways.
