The director's cut is absolutely the way to go. I liked the shorter cut when I saw it in theaters, but Barker's preferred cut was released on laserdisc a few months after that. It is definitely superior.

Welp, at those prices, I pre-ordered SILENT HILL and the HUMANOIDS steel. Well see if that price is locked in, or if BB finds some way to get around/back peddle on those.

The only way BB could do that would be cancelling all the preorders. I don’t foresee that happening, but you never know.
Hopefully this is SF realizing that their pricing structure, as of late, was not good.

Amazon has Green Inferno for $24.96. Not as good as Best Buy, but still better than the latest average price drops for Shout titles. Perhaps Shout is going back to normal again with the July titles. I'm waiting to see if Amazon price matches anything from Best Buy. As much as I'd like to support BB, Amazon is still a more convenient payment process for me.

Ordered the Humanoids steel and Silent Hill. Great deals for both but I'm still at a loss about SF not pushing for a new scan for Hill. That transfer is now 13 years old!

These lower prices are the result of A) Them owning the film outright (Humanoids) and not having to pay licensing fee's... and B) Not having to put any work into a new scan or transfer (Silent Hill). By saving money on that end and by realizing that this new re-release will essentially be identical to what came before but with more extras, I'm sure they figured that the price would need to be more competitive.

It'd be great to see many of the last year or two's releases in store in Best Buy again with the $13.99 - $17.99 price tag that Species, Land of the Dead, The Strangers, Drag me to Hell, etc had a few years ago. That pricing event was the only reason I double dipped on a number of those titles.

Earlier this week, I managed to lock in Lust for a Vampire for $19.97 and Humanoids from the Deep for $17.97 at Bull Moose. The prices have gone up a few dollars since then.

damn it!!! Why did I wait... saw Humanoids as well as Piranha steelbooks at Bullmoose but figured they were so far down the road that it could wait until I ordered them. Bullmoose usually leaves pre-order prices alone from what I've experienced.

Never saw the Lust For A Vampire price at all....

Guess I should pre-order Piranha right now since it's still $19.99.....

I'm hoping you're right... I stubbornly stick to my rule of $19.99 or less for pretty much all blu rays including 4k releases, and I have pretty good success with that.

Scream however... I counted a whopping 18 titles on my Amazon wishlist....

I thought Manitou was originally advertised as being from a new 4K scan? The back of the case says it's a 2K.

I am obsessive and constantly check Bull Moose for upcoming pre-orders. It pays off sometimes.

Whenever I am interested in collecting from a label for the first time, I go back and read their respective thread on this site from the beginning. This allows me to get up to date on all the releases, news, controversies etc. So... I’m currently up to page 275, where it’s 2013 and excitement for Scream Factory and their upcoming slate of titles is really high. It sounds daft I know, but I find it fun. I should be caught up in a few weeks time.

No spoilers please!

Prior to the film starting there is a legend that appears on screen that states it's a 4k scan, but not from the original elements - which now seem to be lost.

You certainly have plenty of time on your hands. Maybe you should buy more blu-rays.

I’m reading it on my lunch breaks. I’m skipping the posts where people request titles or go off topic etc

Just watched Misery for the first time. Positively middling for me, some good scenes and ideas but overall (like almost all King based movies) it just fell flat. Perhaps it's just self-fulfilling prophecy, but my years of putting this off seem to have been a good idea.
