I'm hoping for more John Carpenter, but I'd be elated with a Scream Factory CE of The Lost Boys. I know I've said that before, but the closer we get to SDCC the better a chance I see Scream Factory putting this movie out...
If not SF I'd hope Arrow or Eureka put it out. |

I guess if someone REALLY likes a movie it makes sense for them but I'd be curious what the profit looks like for Shout on some of these titles. If the releases don't appeal to a decent sized collector like myself, I figure you're looking at a very niche market. They can't be cheap titles to acquire. |

Based on last year's HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL remake CE, I'd love a similar release for the 13 GHOSTS remake. Sure, I guess it's a double dip, but..., has it had an US/CA blu release that wasn't part of a very barebones 2-pack?
Maybe some sort of announcement about the ELM STREET movies. Considering I only spent 25 bucks on the current blu-ray set, and how basic/bleh that one is, I'd be OK with double dipping on any of those again if it meant it some sort of decent treatment. I know I had other ideas/wish list items, but... barely sleeping lately thanks to a total a-hole neighbor being a giant toddler. So, can't brain right now. Also, Nemo's comment about the major studios starting to release catalogue titles in 4k, I'm curious if we'd maybe see Shout/Scream finally announce their first 4k disc at ComicCon?? Or maybe in October? Not saying it's likely, but seems like those would be the two time frames we'd get any such announcement, no? **EDIT: JUST listened to the Brainwaves podcast they were on to discuss the past year's issues, title rights, etc. Yeah, I mean, it could be a fake out, but between what they had to say in general on the cost of 4k rights/productions, I don't think it'll be any time soon. ESPECIALLY after they discussed KL's HANNIBAL figures leading to them cancelling their next 4k title entirely so.... Sadly, between the recent announcements of PAN'S LABYRINTH and WATERWORLD on UHD, I'm not sure what blu ray SE/CEs are safe to buy from the smaller labels now, if the studios are just going to drop their own UHD a year or so later. RE: Elm Street, I hope we get a 4K release of that this year in honor of the big 3-5. Sure, I would love a set with pristine scans and unrated part 5, everything ever released and more, but I feel like WB wouldn't want to license it out when they can milk the cash cow that is an anniversary release, especially in UHD.
However, if no 4K, I'd love a set comparable to that of Halloween, with Freddy's Nightmares. Similar with Ninja Turtles (albeit probably not from Scream, maybe Select?) if there is no UHD planned for the '90 film (and its sequels!), I'd love a set with fresh scans stacked with extras. I love catching BTS stuff on youtube, but would prefer to have that stuff all housed together on disc. |

If Scream don't announce any major Warner titles over the next couple of months, I'd say it doesn't look good for major Warner announcements at SDCC, unless they can agree a new deal just in time.

I'd take the Lost Boys in a new CE, just because it's a favorite, but I fear this is one of those movies that's too big for Warner to lease out, especially with the new TV series on the horizon. As far as Comic Con, I'm not expecting much. Last year, we all suspected Shout Select might go big at Comic Con, what with all the potential Sony and Warner titles, and then it was a bit of a letdown. I would expect along the same lines as last year for Shout Select--some random, confusing double dips (like Popstar), and little else. We can hope, though.

Obviously they can't flood the SDCC slate with classic Universal horror and Hammer titles (and this is coming from someone who loves both, especially the latter). I'd say two Hammer tops, and for the Universal, again, maybe a couple. I guess it all depends what they have up their sleeve in the long run.

Lost Boys and Friday the 13th CEs bottom of the barrel? They'd have to be considered top drawer gets for Scream, regardless of what one thinks of the films.

Not for The Lost Boys as it could use a remaster but definitely for Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X IMO. I can't fathom why anyone would want SF to waste potential title spots for those. Again though, just my opinion.
I'm one who prefers double dips to get released once everything else gets released first though. |

There are very few 'new-to-Blu' titles that Scream can get hold of which will realistically get the CE treatment. I'm thinking Road Games is on the cards, and a few more Hammers (Curse of Frankenstein and Scars of Dracula, maybe The Devil Rides Out). But even with the Sony/Warner/Fox/StudioCanal deals, I'm struggling to see much in the way of 'new-to-Blu' titles which would be given the CE treatment. Most CEs going forward (and indeed in recent memory) will be double-dips, and it's likely these which are making the most money for Scream, enabling them to release the older and more obscure fare.

Surely it wouldn't be a CE or anything, but I'd still love for Scream's deal with Warner to yield a BD of Oliver Stone's "The Hand", starring Michael Caine.
Been hoping for that one for ages. Or at least a Warner Archive BD of it. |

Oh absolutely. As I mentioned before my DVD has succumbed to rot, so I'm eager to see an upgrade of this one.

Oh same. But it and HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL had a visual style I really enjoyed (back before I started being done to death, with less effort/funding by so many horror releases that came soon after). They aren't "good movies" but they are highly entertaining IMO, and fun to look at.
