Scream Factory Blu-ray Discussion Thread

Ok guys wanting your advice or thoughts...

Theres a seller on Ebay selling almost EVERY scream factory release. All individual. All with slips. Yesterday they had about 30 end. And now today they have up 20-30 more items. Again all scream factory and all with slips. Different films this time. My biggest WTF is that they ALL end at the exact same second! Same with the ones yesterday. How is that possible? Seller has 200 feedback at 100% bit hasn't really sold in a year.

Sellers can pick when they want their listings to go live and when they end. That seller created all the listings on a given day and then set them to all go live at the same time... hence why they all end at the exact same time.

I wish SF would give some kind of status on the heavily requested titles such as Child’s Play 2 and 3 and Fright Night 2 so people would not keep getting disappointed if there are no plans at all in the foreseeable future for them. It stinks to be disappointed many times when announcements don’t include some of those titles. If they are not being planned and we know this, then people will not keep hoping for them in vain.

Scream Factory will say they do not have a title up and until 5 minutes before making a public announcement that they do have the title. Take 'Candyman' for example: they specifically stated they didn't have the rights, just to announce the Blu-Ray less than 72 hours later.

I'm not sure if this is for contractual reasons or not, but it's been their standard operating procedure for years now.

Fright Night 2 will likely never happen. The legal limbo of the title has left no one wanting to touch it in the US. If it does happen expect it to come from over seas where someone just decides to say screw it, put out the release, and see if anyone bothers to go after them (they won't as no one knows for sure who has the damn thing). Go buy/download the well made HD bootleg and put that title out of your mind.

Child's Play 2 & 3 are beyond frustrating though and much like Sorority House Massacre 2/Hard to Die there seems to be very little in the way of stopping those releases so it's anyone's guess if/when they finally get their Collectors Edition treatment.

Got Frankenstein Created Woman with poster today in the mail. The Entity didn't show up, never got a shipping notice for either one, first time that ever happened to me via Shout directly.

The Scream movies are with Lionsgate, so Scream Factory won't be releasing them. I could see Lionsgate releasing them on UHD at some point.

That’s unfortunate. In lieu of SF release a 4K UHD release would be great too.

I'd buy these in a heartbeat, and I'll even throw Jaws: The Revenge into the list. I'd also hope that Scream would restore the original US theatrical ending and relegate the exploding shark one to alternate ending status.

I know quite a few Scream Factory discs required replacement discs - Child's Play, Dead Ringers, Stigmata, etc. If I were to order those directly from Shout's webstore, would they have the fixed discs at this point? Or would I still have to do the replacement program(s)?

What was the issue with the CHILD'S PLAY disc??? (I own a copy but still haven't gotten around to sitting down and digging into it)

Reversed audio on the 2.0 track. If you bought your copy close to when it was released odds are you'll need a replacement if it bothers you.

Sony just released a new transfer earlier this year, so I doubt we'd get one any time soon, if ever. Reminds me, I still need to buy the new Sony disc.
