I'd agree that overall Jaws is a horror film. The tricky thing with it is it's tone. A lot of the second half feels like an adventure film.

Presumably the 'surprises' either refers to Select titles, re-releases of some kind (likely steelbooks) or even 4K UHD releases (seems unlikely after that recent podcast, but you never know).

Maybe more figures? Or slips for non collectors editions? Seems to be the popular thing to do right now.
Probably moves more than a few units of aging stock as well.

Yes, Jaws is definitely a horror film. It just doesn't feel like one because of the credentials attached to it and the fact it's a glossy studio picture.

I'm not staying up for the Comic Con announcements. I still have traumatic Garbage Pail Kids flashbacks I'll wake up on Sunday morning and read about all the Hammer films we're getting next year

15 titles to be announced at Comic Con!!!

Alone in the Dark
Anaconda
Child's Play 2
Child's Play 3
Fear
The Guest
I Know What You Did Last Summer
I Still Know What You Did Last Summer
Jaws 2
Jaws 3
Thinner
Joy Ride
The Terminator

I'm gonna take a guess that they'll announce My Bloody Valentine in November for a February 2020 release!

You know they'll probably announce a Carpenter title. Escape from LA or Big Trouble in Little China.

Also, if they entered into the world of 4K Ultra HD, please give us Halloween II and Halloween III: Season of the Witch so I can quadruple dip on those titles!

Over 15 titles, that's exciting! I'm guessing the other surprises are figurines of some kind.

My guess is we're going to see about 5 re-releases in steelbook format, maybe with a 4K master. We'll likely see a bunch of the older Twilight Time stuff come back around as well and I'm okay with that because they were too expensive in Canada. Rollerball, Enemy Mine, and Body Double are a few that I can think of off the top of my head that I'd be interested in. Outside of that, I'm wondering what multiple movie sets they can release at this point because 15+ titles is a lot and my guess is there's a set contributing to that. I could be wrong though.

I might be in my own world over here but still hoping for Cry Wolf and Turistas from Scream and the Beach and Pump up the Volume from Shout.

If they announce MBV, it's almost guaranteed that they'll partner up with Neca and do a Harry Warden figure.

100% agree. I've never considered Jaws a horror film.. Or Predator and Aliens (Alien yes).. I usually consider a horror film something I would watch during the Halloween season. Jaws I always watch during summertime.

I think a Paramount deal will be this year's big "event" at Comic Con. Not much else I'd personally be interested in tbh.

What about the numerous summer time horror movies, or other non-October/Halloween themed horror films?

I get what your saying, but that example of a film being a summer time only movie thus not being a horror film is not a very good one.

Jaws fits into the same sub-genre of horror that includes a bunch of animal attack horror like 'Cujo', 'Boar', and a bunch of other not as big budgeted as Jaws movies.

that would be the biggest event that I could think of. The only other thing would be Scream announcing 4k titles.
