I actually own most of those as well, but not all on VHS. Several of them are on DVD.

But my Death Screams VHS is under the title House Of Death. And my Home Sweet Home is under the title Slasher In The House.

Actually, I have the poster for Death Screams:

I also have posters for Berserker and Cheerleader Camp from that list:

I think Madacy has "House of Death" aka "Death Scream" as they've released it under both titles. They are reportedly interested in getting rid of plenty of titles. I would love a blu-ray of this.

I couldn't find any listings for who owned the rights to "Berserker", but Prisim Video Entertainment was the last to release a VHS of the film, and loads of other 80s horror that hasn't been on dvd or blu before.

"Cheerleader Camp" was with Anchor Bay, but I think Paramount has it now, if they didn't send it to Warner. Rumor is they still have titles like "My Bloody Valentine" and "April Fools Day", but I don't know how solid that is. "Camp Fear: Cheerleader Camp part II" is also with Paramount I believe.

John Carpenter's Vampires needs a Blu release. I think Scream would be the perfect company to release it if they could acquire the rights to it.

Camp Fear was released on DVD by Retromedia through Image Entertainment, and I believe the DVD is still in print. So I don't think Paramount owns that one. Seems a little too low-brow for them too.

And yes, there are still many movies that were released by Prism on VHS that are still MIA on disc. Chief among them would be the criminally underrated Shallow Grave from 1987. Junior and Iced would also be welcomed guilty pleasures. Troma got the rights to a few of their releases, like Blood Hook and There's Nothing Out There.

I heard that Code Red pursued Shallow Grave, but the right's owner couldn't find 35mm elements, only a tape master.

Shout shouldn't worry about putting NINJA III on the Scream label... they should create a new label... THE CANNON COLLECTION, and release it there.

Along with...

Enter the Ninja
Revenge of the Ninja
Invasion USA
POW: The Escape (aka: Behind Enemy Lines)
Number One With a Bullet
Firewalker
Mercenary Fighters
The Lemon Popsicle series
Hercules 1 & 2
River of Death
Surrender
10 to Midnight
The Allan Quartermain flicks
Avenging Force
Dangerously Close
The Barbarians
The Last American Virgin
American Ninja 1-3
New Year'S Evil
Runaway Train
Kinjite
Hero & the Terror
Assassination
Platoon Leader
Crack House
Treasure of the Four Crowns
Street Smart
Breakin 1 & 2
Bolero
House of the Long Shadows

I like the sound of a "Cannon Collection" from Shout but I have a horrible feeling TGG Direct will end up with most of that library and dump everything on double-feature DVDs using recycled transfers. Runaway Train, especially, deserves a full-blown SE properly done.

Thumbs up

Carpenters Vampires and Village of the Damned would be great, + a better Blu release of Escape from NY that has the packaging and extras as the DVD.

So, who's got the Cannons?
Used to be MGM, then Paramount said they had them, and then...?

This is why I still hold on to my Special Edition DVD and Laserdisc. Same thing with The Thing. That, and I feel an obligation make my Carpenter collection as complete as possible

Cheerleader Camp has gone OOP recently.

Death Screams sounds awesome, never seen that one before, but I want too.

I was thinking about what could possibly be the biggest score in obtaining an obscure release would be and i think I've come up with it... Fantastic Four 1994, the unreleased movie produced by roger corman. Probably would be under the shout brand, but man would that be epic

Except that the reason it was pulled from theaters wasn't just because it was "bad" (which it was), but because another studio was optioning the rights to make a bigger movie of it.
Good thing we don't have problems like that today.

Since they have Scream for horror... how about "Twist" for mystery/thriller non-horror movies?
