That one I had to order right away. Thankfully, thanks to Target's ongoing deal, I got it for free.

Too bad Universal won't let Scream have Child's Play 2 & 3 being that they're still an active franchise as cmac stated. I'm sure they would do an incredible job with both of these!

However, the Jaws franchise has been dormant since 1987 aside from some video games. I can see Universal not wanting to release their grip on the original 1975 classic especially with 2020 being the 45th anniversary.

That would be an ideal time for a 4K UHD release from Universal and a great opportunity for Scream to give us Collector's Editions with fresh scans and bonus features for Jaws 2, 3D and The Revenge because Universal couldn't care less about the sequels. 3D and Revenge need new scans the most and Revenge needs to have the full theatrical cut with original ending-not just as a bonus feature.

I thought Jaws 3D was already a new scan on the existing bluray?

If not anything Jaws, perhaps Scream can talk Universal into letting them release the italian rip off Great White since they own it outright following their successful lawsuit against Edward Muntoro and Film Ventures International.

I hope SF releases a steelbook only option for Slumber Party Massacre. The figure and poster is cool and all but I’m really not that interested in those.

I feel like they ended up doing such with NIGHT OF THE DEMONS at a certain point....so, seems likely.

Yeah I highly doubt you’re gonna have to buy the whole set with the figure and the poster just to get the new transfer. There will be a standard release with just the steelbook.

Seems like a lot of SF titles going OOP in such a short time.

Since January's titles are now listed on Amazon, I guess that's it for the month. Still, we won't have to wait long until new reveals on Halloween. We only know 2 titles for February so there's more scope for surprises there.

I don't want to be the alarmist here, but should we start buying any MGM titles we want...just in case?

Pretty much everything is going to go OOP eventually, lesser catalog titles especially, even stuff owned and released by the majors themselves.

Just try to keep up and buy the essentials you really want, especially things that have been out for some years now.

This is one of the main reasons I don't wait around for sales.

I would suggest doing so for MGM titles released in 2015 or earlier.

I think it would be wise to pick up any lesser known MGM titles that you want that were released around the same time as this batch of OOP titles.

I am surprised that they let a Hooper and a Craven title go OOP.

Most of the titles going OOP seem to be about five (or 4 and 1/2) years old or older, so it's very possible the licenses on older titles are starting to expire without renewal.

From 2013:

You have about five years.

Grabbed the Carrie / The Rage double feature. Couldn't pass 'em up when push came to shove, especially The Rage (which was filmed in my hometown).

What a terrible time for stuff to go out of print with Halloween and all the other horror sales going on. For as long as I have been aware of Carrie 2 I've always assumed it was terrible. About 2 weeks ago I watched the Scream Factory release of Carrie however and the included trailer had me interested enough that I was considering picking up a copy after I got through this month and all my pre-orders shipped. Hopefully copies linger on for a bit longer so I can do just that.

Also, when I asked for folks to help me identify which titles on post 1 were out of print the other day I didn't mean for new titles to go out of print.
