Thanks for that! I'd really love for the non-DVD collection films to finally make their way to something. Though it would be a shame if the Inner Sanctum movies were separated.

Since Scream has been dealing with Warner for a little bit now, I'm hoping that they release Tobe Hooper's Night Terrors. I rented that movie tons of times back in the day. Still have my VHS copy with the awesome artwork. Still one of my favourites and I would be incredibly happy if Scream released this on bluray.

I would love to see Alone in the Dark (1982 version - not the Christian Slater/Tara Reid crapfest!)

Someone can correctly me if I am wrong, but I believe the WB Deal has pretty much run its course. Unless a new deal is signed I wouldn't hold my breath for anything else from Scream Factory as it relates to Warner Properties. (At least not any time soon).

I was really surprised that this wasn't one of the titles Scream picked up with their first deal with Warner. Hopefully they get another deal.

It's been a long time since we saw the last Warner title (July I think), and even longer when you take into account we know the line-up through January, so I'd say the first deal has been exhausted, aside perhaps from some Hammer and Val Lewton titles. Still, they've had time to negotiate a second deal, so fingers crossed.

As to the titles with Warner, I really hope that “Isle of the Dead” gets back on the release list.

Double-posted from the dedicated thread for this film...

Just minutes into their first date, a high school football star and a cheerleader, played respectively by Donovan Leitch Jr. (Glory) and Shawnee Smith (Who's Harry Crumb?), have their evening interrupted when an elderly drifter runs out into the road in front of them with a viscous slimy substance covering his hand. As the strange man rambles nonsensically about a meteor that came out of the sky, the teens drive him to a doctor's office in their rural California town, unaware that the most terrifying night of their lives has already begun. During the hours that follow, as the amorphous jelly-like organism devours every living thing in its path and increases exponentially in size, our young protagonists, along with a local motorcycle bad boy played by Kevin Dillon (Platoon), will be fighting to protect the community from both the monster itself and a team of shady scientists dressed in hazmat suits.

The 1988 sci-fi horror feature, The Blob, follows in the footsteps of Philip Kaufman's Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978), John Carpenter's The Thing (1982), and David Cronenberg's The Fly (1986) as a remake that rivals the original movie. This time around, director Chuck Russell (A Nightmare on Elm Street: Dream Warriors), who co-wrote the updated screenplay with Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption), preserves the quaint small town feel of the 1958 predecessor of the same name, but infuses the proceedings with generous helpings of 1980s practical gore effects and creative cinematography.

This combination of endearing earnestness and ghastly visuals earned glowing reviews at the time of release from several critics who did not normally warm up to horror cinema, but it somehow failed to make a splash in theaters. Like most present-day fans, I saw this film for the first time when it hit VHS rental shelves during my high school days, several months after the extensive coverage of the effects in Fangoria Magazine had captured my imagination. I was already a huge fan of the 1958 version of The Blob, which starred Steve McQueen in a lead role, but my expectations for a serviceable update of that movie were exceeded in full.

The titular menace in this reinterpretation is not so much a “blob” as it is an amoeba-like entity that uses tentacle pseudopods to ensnare its prey, but its rampage graces us with some unforgettably tense moments. I love one particular sequence where an unfortunate woman takes refuge in a phone booth, only to have the booth itself encased on all sides by the monster before the glass bursts inward. An earlier moment in a diner kitchen will instill nightmares in viewers who already have a phobia of sink drains and garbage disposals.

The Blob benefits from a stellar ensemble cast. In addition to the above-mentioned Donovan Leitch Jr., Shawnee Smith, and Kevin Dillon, we see Jeffrey DeMunn (The Green Mile) as the town sheriff, Candy Clark (The Man Who Fell to Earth) as the diner owner, Joe Seneca (Crossroads) as an apparent government agent, and Paul McCrane (Robocop) as a deputy. Del Close, who appeared in the campy 1972 sequel, Beware! The Blob, has a memorable turn here as a local clergyman. Art LaFleur (Field of Dreams) will give teenage viewers a scare all their own as a pharmacist with a good memory. Be on the lookout for Jack Nance, the lead from David Lynch's Eraserhead, as a doctor.

This Scream Factory Blu-ray, which improves slightly upon the already impressive Twilight Time release in terms of the video presentation, delivers a plethora of outstanding special features, including interviews with Chuck Russell, Jeffrey DeMunn, Candy Clark, Donovan Leitch Jr., and others. We also have three commentary tracks which I have been going through this afternoon after having revisited the main feature last night. The new Shawnee Smith commentary is infectiously fun, mostly because Smith herself seems to be having a blast reliving old memories. The commentary track with Russell, Tony Gardner, and Mark Irwin, moderated by Joe Lynch, is the liveliest of the bunch, but they're all worth a listen.

I doubt it unless Shout makes a deal with Crown International Pictures.

Vinegar Syndrome released a bunch of CIP films on blu-ray but it's been 5 months since their last CIP release and there's been no news or updates on any future CIP releases. Maybe Mill Creek could release it themselves since they released it on dvd. They've been releasing a bunch of Andy Sidaris' films on blu so it isn't outside the realm of possibility. Either way, I hope someone eventually does release the film on blu-ray(in it's OAR no less). I have a soft spot for this film and I swear I must have watched the film dozens of times when it constantly aired on the USA network in the early 90's.

It's too bad they couldn't get Tim Lucas to do one. It's one of his favorite films...

Looks like Sleepaway Camp II and III will be "in stock soon" at Amazon. Has anyone who has ordered them recently receive them with slips?

You may be correct on this. Hopefully they'll do another deal with WB. Still many titles that need releases. Curious if Arrow is still partnered up with WB.

The copy of Sleepaway Camp II I ordered a few weeks ago from Amazon did not come with a slip.

No mention yet if they have the added music as in the French blu or if it's the original soundtrack.
