OMG there is no hope for humanity. No wonder consumerism is laughed at/hated. George Romero was right.

4K remasters of all F13 movies uncut as individual release as steelbooks with new artwork for each release would get me remotely interested.

I want F13 and ANOES boxed sets too. All uncut w/ new transfers (when feasible/necessary) and in individual cases likes the Halloween collection.

Does anyone really think they'd pass up the chance to do either box set if it was presented to them? lol They'd be massive sellers and that profit would likely help more obscure titles get licensed/released as well.

If anything, the sales of said set would likely help pave the way for more of them that otherwise wouldn't be possible.

As excited as I am for April Fool's Day or a possible Tales from the Darkside release one day, In no way would I think that even combined that those two releases would see even half the sales of a potential Friday set.
I'm more annoyed by the posters who won't stop talking about new boxsets of these franchises.

Look, you're a pretty decent fellow and I like some of your posts, but we get it...you want Scream to came to your aid with a T-1000 edition of Nightmare on Elm Street. This thread seriously can't go a couple pages without you and several others carrying on about the possibilities and enchantments of A Nightmare on Elm Street as presented by Scream Factory. And now we have to hear it about Ft13th?

I don't begrudge people for having bucketlists, but damn, must this thread continually get mired in conjecture about what SF could do for good ol' Jason and Freddy?

I’d certainly buy a Scream Factory boxset of Friday the 13th & Nightmare on Elm Street. They’d look great next to the Halloween boxset. If they could do a boxset for Paranormal Activity bring that on as well.

It could be worse:

Who else would love a special edition of Lawnmower Man 2? It would have commentary, documentaries, deleted scenes, photo galleries, trailers and TV spots.

I'm sure it'll get announced this month, or next month, or the month after that.

Sorry SeanJoyce but I agree with TripleHBK on this, I need good ol' boy Jason in a super deluxe hardbox edition with all the bells and whistles

Hoping for restored F13 films is almost a lost cause. The director of My Bloody Valentine was trying to get Paramount to release the uncensored version for at least a decade before they did it. He brought this to the attention of various genre magazines to get the word out. Having just watched the uncut version again today, it's incredible how many great and very creative effects were missing. I think the director kept a copy of the cut scenes, otherwise they may have been in limbo somewhere.

Aren't there still parts missing?
Quote:
Fans may balk that the new disc is not definitively uncut as it still lacks a few oft-rumored shots. Sadly, those choice bits have indeed been declared MIA. Mihalka discovered this when he was asked to do a director’s cut roughly six years ago. “We went through the vaults and found out all of that negative has corroded or disappeared.” What the DVD, furthermore the new print of the film, contains is the remaining salvaged footage found in producer John Dunning’s storage space.

“There was a scene with the two kids in the mine and they’re joined together forever,” Mihalka chuckles citing one still excised sequence. “There was a whole set up scene to that. They’re just necking and Tom’s lying on top of [Harriet] and the miner comes in and puts the [drill bit] through him. She’s got her eyes closed and thinks he’s just being a little frisky. She opens her mouth and her eyes just as he bleeds into her mouth. Then the miner goes whoomp! And [skewers] them both . That scene had to be taken out totally. It has disappeared and we’ll never see it.”

It's the same in the other threads as well, Duke Togo has brought up Extreme Predjudice (which I love and want) at least a hundred times in the Kino thread, and brings up the same Japanese films every month at release time in the Arrow thread. The worst part is I want all the same films, but man it is overkill sometimes. At least they are not Denofearth and they actually bring things to the table

A bunch of people want a F13th box set, but what would be the point? Unless they got new scans, uncut versions, stereoscopic 3D on F13 part 3, and the missing commentary from part 3, what else is there left to do? More extras? After going through everything out there... Current set, Crystal Lake Memories, etc... What's left to talk about it and show?

With all that footage that was found for Halloween 5, I will never say never. Though it does seem likely all the F13 footage is long gone, but maybe they’ll find something somewhere.

I’m still hoping for a release of Red Eye. Gimme some more Craven.

Maybe not. There a couple of new members he could be masquerading as under different usernames. Their writing styles are a dead giveaway.

How about the multitude of movies that continue to languish away in public domain, or those that were denied even respectable DVD releases...or worse yet, never even made the jump from VHS?

This crying and griping about well-circulated, widely-available populist horror fare is obnoxious.
Your whinging sounds obnoxious, so it's all good

No idea what they’re doing with it. Maybe they’ll release 4 and 5 in 4K and have this footage as the “ultimate” extra.

Ha. I've actually made a conscious effort not to bring the same movies wants over and over again to avoid "annoying" other posters, but I'll slip one in here and there. At the end of the day, we are all movie fans, and we all have our dream releases. Vocalizing it every once in a while and hearing from others that they want a realize of it as well is a pretty good feeling. I get it though. If it's something that is put on repeat and is constant, that can be irritating.
