Officially have My Bloody Valentine and Let's Scare Jessica to Death pre-ordered. Cannot wait for both of these releases (especially Jessica—I'm ecstatic about MBV too, but I've had the Lionsgate Blu-ray for a long time now, and Jessica is far overdue for a Blu-ray release).

Does anyone know if the Black Christmas listing on Amazon is the corrected disc? I assume it has to be by now.

Good news! The UK & Germany released this last month, so I feared I'd have to import (as with so many recent titles not getting US releases). It's great that I'll be able to buy this one domestically.

Wait, corrected??? What was the issue with the initial discs? And did they offer a replacement? Or just force people to buy it all over again?

There was a replacement program for the mono track having a hissing sound throughout the film that made it hard to understand what people were saying at times. I believe most copies out in the wild are the corrected disc now.

Official statement from Scream Factory:

We’d like to also take this time to address the fans that brought this to our attention and explain more in detail as to why our mono audio track for Black Christmas sounded so rough. Unfortunately, we were not able to find a mag track, only an optical track, which is not an ideal source for this kind of work. However, based on earlier customer feedback who hoped for lossless mono audio, we decided to include the mono audio track with minimal processing and compression. The was a decision made with the best of intentions and the hope of providing the most authentic film presentation, but the hissy sibilance of the optical track proved to be too extreme and took away from the viewing experience. We’re sorry for the frustration it may have caused. We have explored all options to correct the problem that fit within our resources and have concluded that the best solution was to use the mono audio track originally released on the Critical Mass DVD.

You will not receive a shipment confirmation. Also, please note that due to the high volume of inquires we will not be able to respond to each email personally.
Replacement discs are expected to ship in January 2017 and as soon as we receive them. No tracking numbers will be assigned.

We’d like to also take this time to address the fans that brought this to our attention and explain more in detail as to why our mono audio track for Black Christmas sounded so rough. If the actors sound like they have a Sylvester the Cat-esque lisp when pronouncing words with the letter "s" you have the uncorrected disc.

Default Rasputin: The Mad Monk

Scream Factory will release Hammer's 1966 film, Rasputin: The Mad Monk on Blu-ray!

Synopsis
"Christopher Lee's finest Hammer hour ... It's the part he was born to play, and he knows it." – BritishHorrorFilms.co.uk

"One of Lee's finest roles ... it seems like there is literally nothing that the man cannot do." – The Telltale Mind

Hammer Films' dual reputation for screen shock and flamboyant costume adventure meld in this tale of the real-life "holy man" whose evil charm held the fate of an entire nation in its grip.

In Czarist Russia, Rasputin (Christopher Lee), a peasant monk, mysteriously demonstrates his healing powers by saving a woman's life and asking only for wine and a Bacchanalian celebration in return. But soon Rasputin uses his evil charm and powers to become increasingly manipulative and violent. Ferocious, devious and other-worldly, this uncouth peasant ingratiates himself bit by bit into the lives of the sophisticated royal class ... Christopher Lee's multi-layered performance as Rasputin rates as one of the best portrayals in any film.

Available - February 18th, 2020

Wasn't sure how to add a picture and I haven't seen anyone mention these new Hammer announcements yet.

Default X the Unknown

Scream Factory will release the 1956 sci-fi Hammer outing, X the Unknown, one of the studio's earlier offerings, on Blu-ray!

Synopsis

"Entertaining, suspenseful ... a well-produced piece of science-fiction ... a step above many of the monster movies that came out in the same time period" – The Telltale Mind

Can anything escape this terror? British commandos on maneuvers become ill with mysterious symptoms and horrific burns. Dr. Adam Royston (Dean Jagger), an atomic scientist from a nearby research station, suspects lethal radiation ... but is mystified by the cause. At a nearby hospital, the phenomenon reappears and engulfs more innocent people, including a hospital orderly whose skin melts away from his body! Dr. Royston speculates that the unknown is on a quest to absorb radiation and expand in size and range as it claims more and more victims. As time runs short, he becomes desperate to trap the entity before its power overcomes mankind!

Available on February 18th, 2020

Welll, cool....and, crap. Assuming they're still even offering replacements, I don't know if I could track down/find my proof of purchase on that disc again. I know I got it when it first came out, but can't even recall if I went through them or Amazon...

And so the list of Shout!/Scream Factory titles I want to get continues to grow (I have this gut feeling their two-disc release of slasher My Bloody Valentine is going to be the definitive release, unless a UK label can do their own release).

I don't know if there is a thread on here for Shout's TV show releases (which appear to be mainly DVD releases), but it seems like they're focusing on films now (it has been disappointing that Shout's DVD releases of the second and third seasons of Police Story weren't uncut with decent-looking masters, like with their release of the first season).

I try to get things added to the original post pretty quick. Usually within a few hours of announcement. If ever in doubt I'd recommend checking post #1 as well.
