I ordered "The Cat O' Nine Tails" and "Deep Red" from Blue Underground.
Everyone in the forum pretty much said "Deep Red" was the best Argento film, and the "Cat O' Nine Tails" was essentially horrid.

I thought "The Cat O' Nine Tails" was loads better than "Deep Red". The plot was easier to make sense of and the actors were mostly English, so the dubbing look more authentic.

I fell asleep watching "Deep Red", but "Cat" was intertaining enough for we to watch it in one viewing, and I was tired but I just kept thinking that it was a fantastic movie!

These were my first two ventures into Giallo films and I loved them! I'll be ordering more from Blue Underground in the future!

But can anyone tell me any other blu-ray companies that are releasing Itallian horror or Giallo right now?

I wish more companies were but the only others one's right now are Arrow(mostly region B and many of the same titles as Blue Underground) and Raro Video has been releasing a few here and there. Not to many Giallo's and other forms of Itailian horror on Blu yet though unfortunately. Most of the better entry's have solid DVD releases though.

The film "Dead Souls" is a cheap tv movie from last year.

Just because its Horror means nothing! It shouldn't be a Scream Release.

I can see Ninja 3 cuz its kinda a cult/horror film -- but Dead Souls sucks and isn't even criticaaly acclaimed.

Stick to doing critically successful titles, like MANDY LANE or DEAD END or WOLF CREEK if you wanna do something more CONTEMPORARY, leave the "direct-to-video" sleaze at the door.

I love the ideo of newer films from Scream, like if they did I'll ALWAYS KNOW WHAT YOU'D DID LAST SUMMER or HITCHER 2: I'VE BEEN WAITING, because they're connected to franchises but not dead souls... Come on guys.

Either critically successful films or films connected to classics... Not GARBAGE!!!

Now get to announcing the kind of horror you started with, cuz I'm almost tired of reading crap in every forum about Shout Factory. Give the fans more announcements.

I don't know if any of you have heard or watched the movie The Sentinel (1977)? This movie would be awesome on blu.

That's a blunt way to put it, but I agree, in a way.

Yeah I would like new announcements, but I am more that satisfied with what they've revealed so far, as most companies wouldn't have even released that much info so soon.

I think you suggested some great title btw. I also see ninja 3 fitting the line better than dead souls. But I think Cliff knows what he's doing.

Also, I don't think the addition of those "contemporary" films are going to hurt the output of "classics". Or I hope not at least.

Its also Universal, if I'm correct, and that certainly opens it up to Scream's grasps.

I wish Troma would sign a deal with Scream/Shout. There are so many of their catalog titles I would love to see on blu. Since Troma is taking its sweet time on putting them out.

I could be wrong, but Troma doesn't seem like the kind of company who'd let anyone else release Troma films, other than Troma.

Oh your right they don't. But it would be nice if they did license them to someone else. I mean they let Starz/AB do Mother's Day.

The two are almost completely different genres within horror, and it's almost hard to compare them. I love them both...that chase scene alone with Eddie Benton/Anne-Marie Martin in the first one is one of my favorites of any slasher

That scene with the shot between the legs with the killer holding an axe! Classic. That's one of my favorite slasher scenes, along with the chase scene in Graduation Day with Linnea Quigley and the rock music.

But, yeah, Prom Night II is awesome, as much as the 1st. It should definitely be one of titles they pick up next-go-round from MGM. Along with Motel Hell. Phantom of the Opera (89), and Leviathan.

Let's get Shout! To know how interested the fanz are in this potential release! Keep up the great work guys!

Yes, I understand that people have different taste in movies, but to say that Prom Night II is better than the original is actually funny. I know that Prom Night II have many fans on this thread, but why? The movie is horrible bad. Not even close to the original in my opinion.. Sorry! I respect your opinions.

Prom Night is terrible and one of the worst 80's slasher's IMO. It's bland and boring.

Well that's cool... I really like most of Jamie Lee's scream queen flicks but I just thought this one was a lesser effort... And the disco stuff was painful to watch! I thought Prom Night II had some interesting and creative horror sequences and was surprisingly good. either way, I'd still buy both of them if they get a blu release!

Got to agree. To each their own, but I actually fell asleep the first two times I tried watching it. Probably didn't help that I tried both times after midnight but all I'll say is that I watch movies after midnight all the time and never fall asleep. I hope Scream Factory doesn't waste a potentially awesome slot for any Prom Night movies.

I personally thought from the start that it would be a bad idea to announce this many titles, as it raises expectations, and leaves a long gap of no announcments/
