Yep. That crossed my mind also, but somehow I just won't buy it. What if that photo is a prove that VS did use IP with "Amityville V"?

Then we got an exceptionally good release from an IP instead of a negative. If this were a more popular film I'd say that it leaves the door open for an even better presentation in the future but considering this is Amityville V we're talking about that seems highly unlikely. We were quite unbelievably fortunate to get what we did so I wouldn't worry about getting too hung up on what elements were used.

Sometimes you need to use a different print for the titles. They arent always on the OCN. Speculation regarding the photo, as I dont know. An IP is very close to the quality of the OCN though.

Some good points there, I'll give you that, and I'm all for that 100%. Personally, I absolutely love all the work that VS has done for the world of the physical format over the years, BUT... If you announce something to be sourced from the original camera negative, then it should be exactly that and nothing less. That's the very thing costumers rely on you! And saying that, I don't know the exact situation with Amityville V's source material that was used for the scan. I was just curious what I was saw in the photo vs. the original announcement information of Amityville Cursed Collection.

That is a damn good point there what comes to titles and very true as well.
As for the IP been very close to the quality of the OCN is something that I'm very aware.

Rather than wait for Rarewaves to receive the one I sent back and replace it, I bought a second copy, this time from their Amazon storefront (previous one was from their eBay shop). So the second one dispatched and a few days later they sent me an email giving me a refund for the first set as they couldn’t source any more copies for a replacement. But now the second one I ordered as gone AWOL. I’ll wait and see if it turns up, if it doesn’t then I’ll just grab the Australian release.
Fed up with Rarewaves myself lol... I bought the Destroyer / Edge of Sanity blu-ray from them on eBay back when the first wave of OOP titles was announced (and I believe that was about the first or second week of October). They took awhile to ship and once they did they didn't provide any sort of tracking number. Weeks went by and I never received it in the mail nor was there any tracking showing up in my Informed Delivery coming from their location. I finally reached out to them about it and they claimed it was "lost in the post" and refunded me immediately because they didn't have anymore copies to offer a replacement. To be honest, I don't think they ever shipped it because even Media Mail within the states doesn't take that long and that's about the slowest form of shipping.

Now I have another one where I ordered The Nest from another company on eBay and it was supposed to arrive by the 9th of November at the latest and it has been stuck at "Shipment Received, Package Acceptance Pending" for 2-3 weeks now. I didn't want to miss out on it so I ordered a back up copy from Best Buy since it came back into stock there and Best Buy already shipped it.

Lesson learned, try not to rely on any seller on eBay (that's a full fledged company that is) unless it's thinkingdvd or blowitoutahere because they actually ship their items and provide real tracking numbers that work

Amazon has both the titles you’re looking for (if you’re still looking) in stock. Even the OOP titles that are listed as coming back in stock on such and such date have actually proved accurate. I was able to almost entirely fulfill my wishlist through them.

Anyone else notice that the upcoming release of Big Trouble in Little China does not have “Collector’s Edition” written at the top of the slipcover! BLASPHEMY! I’m wondering if that’s going to happen with the remainder of the Collector’s Editions now? Not that big of a deal considering they are still getting slipcovers. But either way. Either way. Either ways fine. *♂️*♂️*♂️

Just ordered Assault On Precinct 13 steelbook for $11.99 from Amazon. They must have a huge surplus that may not be selling.

The online image had it but the copies that people are getting early don’t have it.

Such a great price, I'm scared if I pull the trigger I'll have to double dip on all the Carpenter steels. I only have they live and the thing so far and preordered little china

I decided to get Precinct 13, in part, because of the price but I'd also like to replace the Blu-ray, whose art I never really liked. Plus my slipcover got damaged. I won't be needing steelbooks for The Thing or The Fog, though. I'm very happy with the existing BDs.

I do like steelbooks, and it is a good price. That said, just for myself, I feel it's not worth double dipping on the Scream/Shout steelbooks unless the discs themselves were an upgrade, either with a new transfer or new extras. In fact, if they had waited a little longer with the initial Carpenter steelbooks, there's a chance they could've licensed the 4K transfers that StudioCanal used for their Carpenter UHDs overseas, adding an extra incentive to double-dip (especially since I personally doubt they'll be trying to triple-dip those titles anytime soon).
