I actually like the look of having slips mixed in with non-slips on the shelf.

I've tossed several slips, swapped the cases for snazzy black ones and flipped the sleeves to the original artwork - and those look terrific. But I've kept the bulk of the slips as many of them look anywhere from OK to quite nice. If black cases were easier to find I'd probably get rid of all slipcovers, though.

First you put the Silver Shamrock song in my head in the VS thread and now this travesty!

I'm with you barsalou, I don't mind the look of different cases - I've got different color cases, slips, non slips, slipboxes, steelbooks, "special editions" in weird packaging....even a person with extreme OCD would have a tough time putting my collection into some type of harmonious shelf order.

I keep my collection in alphabetical order, with exceptions for specific groups (all 007 together, universal monsters together, Hitchcock together, etc)

formula_nebula: I'm with you on the new scan for Cat People, it needs it and would love to see it.

I also keep them alphabetical. Well, by label, then alphabetical. The biggest mish mash has to be with Arrow as they have regular cases, steelbooks, slips and LEs.

Still, I think everything looks nice and slick.

Grabbed the following OOP titles from the HB sale (a STEAL for $50 + shipping):

Stigmata
Ghoulies / Ghoulies II
The Food of the Gods / Frogs
Empire of the Ants / Jaws of Satan
The House Where Evil Dwells / Ghost Warrior

Missed out on Blacula / Scream, Blacula, Scream between my cart and check out. I honestly felt nauseous thinking about how I almost had it for like $10 instead of $100.

Also saw The Dark Half was back in stock on Family Video and ordered it as well, then promptly received a notice that it was backordered. I'm probably just gonna go ahead and cancel it, so my money isn't tied up and I can prioritize an OOP title that I can actually get my hands on. So frustrating!

Watched the Fan (1981) last night and it's a pretty good release from Scream. Here is hoping many more Paramount films are in store for us in 2020.

Am I only one who dislike Scream’s artwork for the steelbooks? I’m on the fence waiting for the steel of Slumber Party Massacre. I like the film, but the original Blu-Ray release is quite cheap at the moment and also features that iconic artwork.

Of all their Collector's Editions, that one is probably most deserving of a remaster. Deadly Blessing could also use a new scan, but damn the current HD master that exists for Cat People is bloody horrendous. Seriously one of the worst-looking blu-rays I've ever seen.

As much as I'd love a fresh scan of Cat People '82 (without DNR), I have a feeling the Universal stuff Shout licensed may be one-off deals. Our only hope for a better release may have to come from Arrow since they also license from Universal.

Was this at Hamilton books? Check back over the next few days. There is a chance it might come back. It happened to me with a title or two after price reductions etc. Never hurts to keep up the hunt.

There are way too many people that show up in this thread worried about how other people spend their money and end up berating or mocking people for missing releases that went OOP and are trying to get them now, even though many people juggle more than one label + bills + life. Find a new hobby already lol.

That aside, I was able to get New Year's Evil, Breathless, Vampire's Kiss/High Spirits, Pope of Greenwich Village/Desperate Hours, and The Sure Thing from HB. Very grateful since most of these titles are hard to find and/or jacked up in prices now on most resale sites that actually have them.

How good are Hamilton Books in terms of fulfilling orders?

Never ordered from them before and I'm just wondering what the chances are they cancel some of these orders due to not having enough stock.
