I don't know what they spent it on though, maybe Ben Kingsley hairpiece is actually CGI and it's the most detailed piece of CGI ever created with all those individual white hairs haha. I still have vivid memories of the characters walking along the sidewalk of future Chicago and it looks bad, soooooooooooo bad.

With that said, I also enjoyed A Sound of Thunder as a shut off your brain flick. The only reason it works on any level is because it's based on a great Ray Bradbury story. Although, The Butterfly Effect did a better job of the concept and that doesn't include action or dinosaurs so A Sound of Thunder should have started out with an advantage.

To date, the best Peter Hyams film is Timecop and should pretty much be treated as a matter of fact haha.
I'll admit Timecop is pretty badass, but for me, the best Peter Hyams pictures are in this order:

5. Timecop
4. Outland
3. Narrow Margin
2. Stay Tuned
1. Running Scared

I noticed Tales From the Darkside on Amazon Prime recently. Could possibly mean something (I hope).

I adore A Sound of Thunder. The CGI is bad but it has this B-movie charm that I love so much.

Oh and Timecop rules.

I'd love to see Tales from the Darkside: The Movie and Bug get the SF treatment.

Let's hope so, It's on several lists here and many fans have considered it as the unofficial Creepshow 3.

My dream Paramount 5:

1. Tales from the Darkside The Movie
2. The Golden Child
3. Summer School (Ideal for Shout Select line)
4. Vampire in Brooklyn
5. Captain Kronos: Vampire Hunter

*Didn't realize Explorers was Paramount until I saw it listed here... Man, this might move Captain Kronos right out of my top 5!

I'm not too well versed in who owns what...but what's up with The Phantom (1996)? Not saying it's a potential Scream or Select release, but I know it was a Paramount title, and the now OOP blu was from Lionsgate. This similar to My Bloody Valentine? I have a soft spot for the Phantom simply because i was all aboard that hype train approaching release haha.

I would take all 3 of these. The Tenant is in my Top 10 of all time. Looking for Mr. Goodbar is up there too. The Possession of Joel Delaney looked fun on the Trailer Trauma 2 disc. Targets seems as poignant as ever and something I want to check out.

Sometimes I don't get Shout. They're obviously a label that markets itself as a collector's wet dream but every time I get one of their Blu-rays in the mail I always go "that's it"? Just got The Prophecy and there's no slipcover (I know it wasn't supposed to get one), comes in this boring generic blue case with no booklet (I know they don't come with them) and just one extra. With Arrow, I always feel like I'm getting my money's worth even if it's a blind buy because Arrow's stuff not just looks it but feels premium. The inconsistencies with the slips don't really bother me too much, probably because they don't use the original artwork on them. I have a TON of great SF titles, many of which deserve deluxe treatment, like Without Warning and Final Terror. I'm just annoyed at the inconsistencies, not really knocking Shout.

I find a lot of Arrow extras a chore to get through and all the frame-grabs in their booklets seem wasted paper. But can't knock most of their transfers which I assume is why most are upgrading.

I agree, and the sad thing is at the price point Shout charges they really should be on-par with Arrow. It seems as though Scream Factory's best days are behind them, unfortunately. But I do love them and I'll continue supporting them, but I hope they start feeling the love we collector's have for these movies and up their game considerably.

I'm not a big fan of Arrow's overly scholarly writings and they only seem to have two people they rely on for insight (Kat Ellinger and Kim Newman) but their overall high PQ standards are what draw me in. That and the lovely packaging.

Scream is interesting when it comes to packaging. I picked up a few older releases recently (Howling II and Invaders From Mars) and was genuinely surprised to see you could flip those covers. I didn't know they did that with non-CE releases. With that, wasn't Psycho II non-flippable despite the CE treatment?

All I know is unless it drops to around $20 or less, I no longer pickup a title unless it's one that I absolutely love or I have a strong desire to blind buy cause of what I've read about it.

Transfer wise, I think Scream has been doing better the last year or two than the years before that. At least from what I've seen and read.
