Speaking of films with “Dead” in the title, I sure wish someone would release Bringing Out the Dead on Blu-ray. It’s a glaring omission from the format.

A comment about MUNSTER, GO HOME!:

I see many comments from people who prefer the series and I would certainly buy it in a second. But I have to say that I think the movie is one of the best TV show based films ever made.

Except for the unfortunate replacement of Marilyn, MUNSTER, GO HOME! retains the charm and character of the TV series while suitably making it BIG for the movie screen. Fans of the show should really see this movie and not be put off because "it's not the series". I think it's delightfully in the sprit of the series and I find it hard to believe that it would disappoint any Munsters fan (of course, taste is subjective).

As I said in another post, I actually signed up for my amazon account almost 20 years for the main purpose of placing my very first DVD order: the Goodtimes DVD of Munster, Go Home!.

Yeah. The current Blu-ray is really good already and I'm sure it will probably be the same transfer. The original release is OOP, but selling for peanuts at my local Rasputin's. Saw three copies there for $5.99 about a month ago.

Previous release is OOP. Would you rather everyone just buy it for ebay prices? They're filling a void.

New copies have sold for has high as $33 recently, and used copies go for around $15-20 on ebay.

Looking at ebay, yeah the new ones seem to be selling for about $33, but used goes for much less in the last few months. One even sold for 99 cent and I'm seeing a lot going for less than ten bucks.

It's a great film, but if someone really wanted to watch this, there is already a solid release with a better cover (IMO) which you can get used for about $10 used versus what Shout might charge.

Looks like we won't be getting an Inner Sanctum Mysteries set from Scream. From Tom Weaver over on CHFB:

I think whoever suggested Mill Creek might be right. That said, aren't VCI releasing old Universal serials? Did they actually licence them from Universal, or just get the vault materials from them?

I have the Arrow UK disc as well. The transfer looks fantastic IMO. I'm not sure how a 4K scan could improve upon it, but I love the film, and I would certainly double-dip for a good 4K scan of it.

Well, the previous blu-ray for "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead" is OOP, otherwise, I totally agree!

I’m fairly new to understanding what contracts Scream/Shout has. But I was wondering if they still release IFC films? Wondering cause I know IFC has rights to Berberian Sound Studio and I was hoping that film would get a blu-ray upgrade. The Duke of Burgundy got a release from Shout and with In Fabric this year, I’m sure Peter Strickland’s work might get some visitation and BSS is such a terrific film it needs a re-release.

Yes, they do. They are releasing the House that Jack Built.

Oh perfect. Fingers crossed they dig into the back catalogue and give BSS a release.

Thus far they have not gone back and released older IFC films. I wouldn't hold your breath for this to ever come from Scream Factory. In fact, if memory serves me correctly, this film was released prior to the licensing agreement between IFC and Scream Factory which pretty much leaves little to no chance it will come from them.

Rats. Was hoping for a release. Maybe there’s a chance. A very very very slim chance.

A while back someone on another forum suggested this was coming, and when Kino didn't have it you figured it had to be Scream. I think it's a pretty awful production but I do hope it means more 70s Universal TV horror movies might be on the way. I thought it interesting that they recently cited Dark Secret of Harvest Home (a Universal property) for Joanna Miles in the blurb for Bug.
Nice to see Munsters Go home come to blu-ray for any Munsters fan.
