I don't get the impression that Shout! Factory's deal with IFC gave them carte blanche access to the IFC Midnight back catalog and I'm pretty sure they've said that there were no plans to dip into the back catalog beyond The Larry Fessenden Collection and The Human Centipede: The Complete Sequence boxsets. I think a lot of those titles are / were technically still with MPI, and I think that's how HorrorPack got Dead Hookers in a Trunk for one of their monthly exclusives, a while back.

Yeah I feel like their IFC output has also slowed a bit in the later portion of 2019 as well which is a bit disappointing. I own and continue to purchase a fair number of IFC films and would hate for them to disappear entirely. Truth be told, whether they come from Scream Factory or someone else isn't a big deal to me, just that they are released as a fair number of really good indie horror efforts have come through the line in the last decade.

I've never seen any of the IFC films from them. What are the good ones?

Seperate the blus and DVDs. All in alphabetical order. I've seen collectors have hundreds, if not thousands, of discs and none of them are in alphabetical order. Drives me crazy. Like.... how long does it take for someone to find something when you have thousands and none of them are in order?

-By Genre
-Alphabetical within each Genre
-VHS/DVD/Blu's all mixed Together

For the Horror section Each letter of the alphabet (plus one shelf for Numbers) all get their own shelf with plenty of room to spare since the horror genre makes up well over half of my collection.

I'm with you on alphabetical sorting to at least some degree... I can understand maybe not sorting every single title alphabetically but at the very least a person needs a full shelf just for one letter (So all the C's are grouped together for instance, but maybe not exactly alphabetical) so there is at least some semblance of organization.

All alphabetical, but I keep sequels or movies in the same series together under the overall name. (All the Bond movies, in release order, under "B," for example.) Furthermore, films come first, then TV series, then anything else. Blu-rays and DVDs separate.

By genre. There's a row devoted to '70s disaster movies, another to Russian films, Kurosawa, the Hammer collection, Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks animation, other animation, kaiju movies, silents, B-movie cheese, the MCU, and so on. Within each genre, movies are sorted by year of release. Collections (like the Universal Frankenstein or Dracula sets) are sorted by the year of release of the first film. Sometimes I have to look a release date up, but once it's sorted, it's sorted.

By format (DVD/HD DVD/Blu-Ray) and then alphabetical

For movie series like X-Men films and 007 series, they’re grouped together (X-Men related movies goes with the X and 007 goes with the J as in James Bond)

Movies like 2001 and 28 Days Later are sorted as they were spelled (e.g. two-thousand and one)

4K Blu-Ray are organized with the Blu-Ray (because they’re still Blu-Ray discs)

I’ve seen some organized by boutique label (Scream Factory, Vinegar Syndrome, Kino Lorber, Criterion, etc...) That just boggles my mind. How can find movies like that? Especially like say you wanna watch a movie, you have to think what label it was released from first and then the title.

This is how I organize my collection as well. There are some exceptions by Director - for example, I have all my Hitchcock films together in chronological order.

Studios or labels, and misc I put together by era (80s, 90s, etc). So I have Criterion on my top shelves (by spine number), then Arrow, next Scream Factory, then smaller labels I don't have as much like WAC, Blue Underground, KL, Eureka, Indicator, etc. I rarely alphabetize.

Then I have a shelf for trilogies, collections, like Back to the Future trilogy with Predator, Rush Hour, MIB sets, et al.

I have three sections.

1 - directors - this is organized chronologically, including television, but DVDs are split from blu-rays in most cases. Directors are kept loosely alphabetical, with a few adjustments to keep things together (ie: rather than split a director across two rows, I'll swap it with a less prolific director).
2 - movies - these are organized more or less alphabetically, with DVDs and blu-rays separate, only because blu-rays require smaller shelves, so it's a waste of shelf space to combine them. Ideally, if space were not an issue, I'd alphabetize regardless of format. I also have personal quirks about alphabetizing (dropping articles from foreign film titles, spelling out numbers to some extent, ignoring spaces, Mc becomes Mac, Mr/Mrs/Dr get spelled out). Sequels are filed under the first film's title, so "Indiana Jones" sequels are under R, for "Raiders of the Lost Ark".
3 - television - it's only recent that I have enough television blu-rays to split them, previously this was all kept alphabetical ignoring format.

I now have all Blu-ray/4K titles in alphabetical order, with DVDs separate in alphabetical order. I'm about to move, and when I do I will incorporate the DVDs in with the Blu-rays, and just go straight A-B-C format. It works best for me that way; I always know where something is.

just alphabetically...I never understood keeping the Blu-rays and DVD's separately, their all movies or shows and just as important. Just seems like to divide them lessons the movies just because they are not the same format. Plays the same on the players
