If the masters arent good enough for HD then XRAY will be DVD only...
and that spoiled rotten stubborn attitude of blu ray or nothing may well prevent you from owning a good quality DVD of X-Ray. Im with the group that will still get films in either format if I like it enough. And since its Scream , you know you will get a quality release of the film, and no one else would even have released it if it wasnt for them.
Im sure Scream / Shout looks over all the masters to see what they can do with it before they decide on if its going to be on Blu Ray.
I have so many titles on DVD - and if they dont go HD , so be it, at least I own it and can watch whenever I want.
If I had that Blu Ray or nothing attitude I wouldnt own any of the Gamera movies or 95% of the Godzilla movies which Ive loved since I was a kid ( by age numbers type of kid)

Maybe Scream can pick up some LIONSGATE films next.

I have a hunch that's where they're going for their next BIG deal. Cliff even said that he was wanting to raid their vault next, and when people post asking about Lionsgate titles they never say "no", like they do to Warner or Sony titles.

And they could, in theory, make a deal with PARAMOUNT, as Shout has been working with them on non-horror titles. Fyi.
If they didn't get shipped off to WARNER BROS. then I would adore new editions on blu-ray of "My Bloody Valentine", "April Fools Day", and some 80s style gore slasher/splatter movies!!

Why the heck would we need a new edition of My Bloody Valentine '81? The LG version was perfect. And we already know that WB has the F13 series, and the Stephen King adaptations (Silver Bullet, Graveyard Shift, Dead Zone), as well.

I'd be down for an APRIL FOOL'S DAY Blu from Shout. Very down - I love this movie. For some reason the film feels to me like a lost Friday the 13th entry, just without Jason. But it won't be definitive unless the deleted scenes are included, regardless of what condition they're in, if they're available.

And if anything, it would be re-released by Olive, a la Cujo, Monster Squad and The Running Man.

Yeah I am not a big fan of the Empire stuff. I like Prison and the two Stuart Gordon ones(Re-animator, From Beyond) and that would be it.

I hope Warner puts the King adaptations out, they are all in HD on iTunes now...but I will wait for possible Blu-rays. There is no don't they will being releasing all the Friday the 13th's, it's just a matter of when and if it will be a box set or individual releases. I am kinda hoping for a paramount years box set personally. Totally agree that another release of My Bloody Valentine would be pointless to many as the LG blu is perfect like you said, it would benefit the fellows who didn't pick it up the first time around though I guess.

You're kinda right, and kinda wrong. Paramount owns it. They've released it on a single dvd, as a double feature dvd with My Bloody Valentine, a triple feature with My Bloody Valentine and Pet Semetary Too, and they oversaw the Lionsgate release with the same specs, just new art. There's no doubt they hold the original rights...

However, Warner Bros did liscense a bunch of movies, 600 actually, from Paramount. They announced they had a lot of horror titles, like the Friday the 13th Series, the Stephen King films, Pet Semetary Too, and Relic. So, it is likely that Warner may currently have it, but we really don't know at this point.

Finished hospital massacre. I felt like it fell more into the prom night category of taking itself too seriously for its own good and since there's no humor to be found it became a bit absurd and tedious. I would need a real good sale to personally pick up

I am pretty sure Scream Factory checks out what movies I have imported and then sets them up on their release schedule. THE FOG, ROLLING THUNDER, FUNHOUSE and ELECTRA GLIDE IN BLUE are just some that come to mind.

Glad to see a lot of these movies get the royal treatment though.

Am I correct in saying the titles in the OP that have 'collectors edition' beside them are the Scream Factory releases and the ones that don't have 'collectors edition' beside it are horror movies released by Shout Factory?

No, they're all Scream Factory. Collector's Editions will usually have more extras compared to the non-Collector's Editions, and will have commissioned artwork as the main cover (with the original poster art available as a reversible cover).

And yeah, I'm a Prom Night fan! A slasher fan!

There's still hope for some of that stuff. I mean, they got Class of Nuke'em High out on blu so why not at least Toxie?

Hell, if Poultrygeist can get a blu release...

Great review. I'm surprised they gave the film itself an A and the extras an A+.
