I'm still waiting on mine as well. Oddly, my Full Moon order is due to arrive on Saturday. Although pleasantly surprised, I didn't expect that one to win the race.

I'm still waiting for a couple of non-sale items I ordered earlier this week to ship - looks like the Valentine's Day sale is delaying everything across the board. In my experience, Shout typically ships in-stock items within 48 hours. It's no biggie - the stuff I ordered were just upgrades of things I already own.

Regarding War of the Worlds (1953):

An Australian company called Madman has just announced a blu-ray release utilizing a brand new 4K restoration, due in May and limited to 1500 units in a special package. There is a separate thread all about it.

Also, Amazon.com is streaming it in 4K. Looks awesome.

So if Scream Factory doesn't announce this next month, there's something very wrong with them! This should be a top priority!

This is more a Paramount issue than Scream Factory...

At least Paramount didn't release their original HD master from the early 2000's, it was a 1.78 crop job, when it should have been 1.66. (Don't quite understand why, they're usually really good about respecting the aspect ratios)

Okay, but Shout/Scream Factory has a deal in the US to release Paramount films on blu-ray, at least horror and science fiction. So they should have this.

That doesn’t mean they have free reign over the entire Paramount horror & science fiction films. War of the Worlds may be a title Paramount refused to give them.

War of the Worlds started shooting in 1952 and was composed for 1.37. By the time it came out in August 1953 for general release, Paramount had transitioned to widescreen and was hastily cropped to 1.66:1.

The previous HD master Paramount created was 1.78:1 for HDTV venues. It wasn't too far off from the 1.66 theatrical ratio, but clearly wasn't made to be in anything other than 1.37 as even the credits got heavily cut off on all fours!
