I understand why the new artwork is done, but the artwork on both those covers is bloody terrible!

The US release has a reversible cover sheet, with the original artwork that I think was used on the VHS and laserdisc releases.

Yep and I am glad it does. The new artwork does not bother me, I am just not a fan of it.

I know about those rumors but I didn't know They Came from Within was called Shivers. I was just looking through his films and seeing which ones weren't out on Blu yet.

I hope that set does come together because I love Cronenberg.

Nope. American version only. There was a rights issue for the international one, apparently.

Sadly not. As noted in the details. But the extra nudity was pretty much forced on Wes Craven anyway. So no loss.

Note also that it's not a Collector's Edition Release. So no new cover art. But it will have extras.

So what are the 'legal issues' involved? I'm not too familiar with the backstory - is it than Barbeau didn't/doesn't want her nude scene in the film?

This was another one of those titles that I was informed about during my interview with Cliff back in November. So pleased to see it finally announced for everyone!
