It may have been a one man operation, but I’m sure they had significantly lower order volume. I work in logistics so I know just how backed up and delayed things can get when you’re already understaffed, but then have triple the order volume. There are also probably certain safety procedures in place which can also slow things down. It’s just a perfect storm.

I bet they announce it in July (normally at Comic-Con) because that's when they unload their big titles announcements for the rest of the year/early next year.

I'm still waiting on the processing and shipment of six movies from an SF order placed on 4/28, and for my most recent order, placed on 5/8, everything is still processing.

This just reminds me, once again, that I should either not order directly from SF, or be prepared to wait a long time to get my movies if I choose to do it anyway. The waiting continues.... At least I do have confidence, though, that I will ultimately get all of the discs that I ordered, because I always have in the past. It just requires a lot of patience.

I once paid for faster shipping and that order shipped within a few days. Every single time I get free shipping it seems like it takes forever. This has easily been the longest wait time from them.

I received one of the items in a large order pretty quickly. Then the horror began. There's been nothing ever since. Until just a couple hours ago ...

That one item I received, Universal Horror Collection Vol. 2, had a cracked plastic case. I sent an email to Shout on May 11 requesting a replacement case. They responded to that email today, and requested I send a picture of the cracked case. So I sent a picture.

But still nothing about the other items in that order. It's comforting to know, however, that this delay is something that isn't exclusively localized to me. Reading complaints and concerns from others eases the pain. Thank you, everybody. Please keep complaining.

Nothing official yet.

And while I haven't gotten any shipping notification for the stuff I ordered that's going OOP, I did get notifications for the stuff I ordered from the MST3K Store, along with my copy of Escape From L.A., so some stuff is moving, anyway...

I'm gradually getting my recent orders from them, but they are coming very, very slowly. I've been waiting for three weeks for certain Blu-rays to ship, and I'm still waiting. I don't expect to have all of them in my hands for possibly one more month.

This slowness is not just about the pandemic either. That is obviously not helping at all, but SF has been slow with processing and shipping most of my orders for years.
Shout Factory is awful when it comes to replenishing a backorder. It takes, like a month, for them to complete that task. Somebody needs to crack that whip over there.

In most cases I often wonder if that is the result of more copies of a film needing to be pressed. If an order needs to be made to create more copies and then from there Shout is at the mercy of shipping times then 1 month seems about right before shipping out orders assuming that there isn't a backlog or other distribution chain breakdowns. In the past huge numbers would have been pressed at one time so backorders were much more unlikely, however in an effort to keep costs lower I could see Shot Factory electing to print far fewer copies of a title at one time so that they don't get stuck with them in the long run. It takes longer and likely costs them more on a per order basis, but saves them money in the end if they don't have to destroy 5000+ copies of a film when their licensing agreement runs out.

This is all pure speculation of course as it may in fact just be poor management/planning, but if I were to place money on a reason, I'd take option A before option B.

Just a heads up SF cancelled one of the titles I had ordered in one of my orders thats still "processing" because as per the e-mail message they sent me, the title though it seemed to be still in stock on their website when I placed the order it really wasn't in stock. To their defense like I said they did send me an e-mail notifying me of this issue and they already refunded $9.99 back to my credit card. I mention this because I had gotten the impression from not only previously ordering from SF but from reading posts here in the forum that SF was pretty spot on when it came down to their inventory levels meaning if you were able to get a title in your order it meant it was in stock not unlike what seldom happens with Hamilton Books. Anyways maybe it was due to the craziness of their oop sale combined with the health crisis. Before I start getting asked it was the Species Double Feature.

Is it likely that a Final Destination Box Set could be released by Scream Factory down the line?

I'm sorry to hear that happened, though it's very good that they refunded your money, as they should have. I didn't think that SF allowed people to order discs unless the discs could at least be back-ordered and eventually shipped. Now, I'm wondering which one(s), of the twelve titles of mine that are still "processing," after weeks and weeks, might end up being canceled!

Well, most of the OOP films I ordered from them are now out of stock. I really hope I don't get an e-mail saying "x" movie will not be part of your order.

Probably not since New Line is (was) supposedly working on a sixth film which means they'd probably rather re-release the films themselves (if at all).

Below is the e-mail message SF sent me regarding the cancellation of one of the titles on my order. I placed the order on 5/12, the message is from 5/14. I really do hope that it was just me having bad luck and that no one else runs into this issue.

Hi (my name),

I regret to report that Species III / Species: The Awakening [Double Feature] on this order in fact sold out even though it remained listed online for sale at the time of your order.

We have had to cancel that portion of your order. Please be in touch if you don't see a refund come through within a week.

The other portion of your order remains open.

Thanks,
Shout!

Yeah, now I wish that I hadn't encouraged everyone that all of the discs that they ordered would eventually show up! Mine always have showed up, and I thought that was the case with everyone, from what I have seen here and elsewhere over the years.

Apparently, though, at least occasionally, an order can now just be canceled by SF, due to the disc being "out of stock," and seemingly, OOP, even though the website showed the disc as being in stock at the time of the order! I'm sorry, but that is really, really, not right on SF's part. They seriously need to start reflecting their actual inventory more accurately on their website, or they are going to lose (more) direct-ordering customers. I know that they gave a refund in this particular case, but it seems to me that they could have pressed one more disc to fulfill that part of the order, since they already had the money which had been paid for it, but that's just me!

I don't know if you are joking or not, but you do know they can't just press one more disc on its own?

Please Cliff, for the love of God, acquire Tremors. That masterpiece has the saddest blu-ray release with edge enchancement that wrecks havoc far worse than the Graboids in Perfection, Nevada. It would benefit from a modern 4k transfer on Blu-ray. Or 4k Blu-ray since The Deer Hunter got that. I don’t care. Do what your good at. Respecting genre films. I beg you from the dark soul of my heart.
