Come on, everyone. Don't make Shout! send out an email like that! You know they're doing everything they can to get the huge wave of orders out.

No one is making them do anything. When they can't be bothered to get a product out the door and into the hands of the post office in under 14 days (regardless of the reason) they owe it to everyone that ordered from them to be communicating every step of the way in regards to where their purchases are. If the films in question weren't pre-orders then they should be keeping everyone up to date on every single delay so people know what's going on. Writing an e-mail like that takes 1 hour tops and compared to the multiple hours it takes to read and respond to folks writing in asking where their order is. E-mails like this reassure a large number of people at one time and should be expected any time there are delays... not just during current events.

Quite frankly I'm amazed at the level of calmness most folks have exhibited here given the 30+ day wait for any form of communication, let alone a product they paid for.

I was going to place another order with SF but ill probably wait. While I got lucky with my 3 item order during their last sale (had my BDs in a week) I don't want to take a chance now & potentially wait a month or more for my stuff.

That^^^ 100%

My level of calmness is only based on the fact the majority of my orders have shipped fast. IMO they have a great product. And they have never screwed me (other than wait time). Unlike Best Buy, Ebay sellers, and others. At the end of the day, I have always received what I ordered from SF.

Yeah i'm definitely not ordering from them again any time soon, at least until shipping goes back to normal. Unless more titles go OOP or really cheap again.

I have this...

It is the best I have ever seen it look, which is still pretty rough. Even when I was a kid, I watched it on a small black and white Tv with rabbit ears. The static would start and someone would have to get up and pound on the top of the Tv. Those were the days....

These delay's are starting to get ridiculous.

Tales from the Darkside has been delayed an additional 2 weeks. New release date is now August 25,2020.

Ghost Ship has been delayed all the way to September 29th 2020.

I understand the delays given current events, but given there's now already 3 titles scheduled for September, my concern is how this might impact the number of 'new' titles coming in September (bearing in mind we only got 3 for August, and two of those were titles previously released on Blu-ray).

I guess it is what it is, I got a couple of orders still processing from early May and whatever I'll keep on waiting its fine but in reality SF needs to address this issue in house as not everyone out there will take these extreme delays in stride. I don't have a business degree but I do own and run a business and shipping delays of this nature are a big turn off to a lot of customers. You are talking new and old customers potentially not giving them their business again over this situation. I understand the health crisis etc but when you got like in my case orders from Full Moon and Kino that were placed during their respective Memorial Day weekend sales already on their way to me its hard to justify SF's longer than normal delays. If the issue is they got product at different warehouses etc maybe they should consider storing and shipping out of one location. We are not dealing with bulky items that require a large warehouse and/or possibly several locations to store inventory.

Are people actually waiting 3-6 weeks for in-stock items to ship from Shout? That seems excessive. I've grown used to delays of up to a week or more from Amazon but I would be pulling my hair out if I had to wait a month or more. We all know that label reps lurk around these forums reading comments so maybe people shouldn't post things like "I don't mind waiting - I have plenty to watch in the meantime"

On the bright side, transit times once packages are picked up by carriers seem to be returning to normal - mostly. I no longer need to drive my contact at the USPS sorting warehouse crazy with texts

I’m wondering how this is going to impact the rest of the year. Getting talent to do interviews, commentaries, featurettes, etc is probably difficult now, which will cause delays. SF is probably shuffling their release calendar for the rest of the year to include titles that are light on extras or use mostly archival content (old commentaries, interviews, etc). Some of the unannounced collectors editions that were supposed to be out later this year might end up getting pushed to next year.

Interviews and commentaries can be done while isolated at home. But production as a whole will probably be delayed. Hope they don’t scrap any extra features as a result of the shutdown/ social distancing.

I hope not. The August reveals were really slim pickens. September is usually a hot month, so hopefully we get a decent amount of titles.

I remember having a TV back in the day (connected to cable) that you'd have to sometimes pound on the side a few times to get the picture to work right. It's funny, looking back, that pounding on TVs to get them to work actually worked.

Anyway, I guess it's still a mystery as to whether Shout cut a deal with Susan Hart and/or Wade Williams for some of their titles?

I'd rather just know what's coming and deal with the delays as they happen versus simply not knowing what's coming. It would be a big relief to just hear them tell us that the Dead Zone and the Friday set are coming.

Hearing that the Friday the 13th set is officially coming from them, with a release date would be nice. I've got some Amazon GC's I'd like to use to bring the price down on that one so it would be nice to get that Pre-order locked in. It seems ludicrous to think that it wouldn't be coming in September or maybe October to account for the Halloween season but the next official Friday the 13th isn't until November so I could see them waiting until then.

Now that there’s a bit of a lull with regards to announcements and shipments, I would like to ask how those FRIDAY THE 13th movies are? I saw the very first one at a midnight sneak preview before it opened theatrically and I was not impressed so I stayed away from all the sequels and the cult following of the franchise. I remember the anthology TV series getting good reviews, but I think that was largely unrelated to the movies, right? So my question is: Are any of these genuinely good horror movies or is the affection based more on guilty pleasure nostalgia? I’m always up for giving things a chance and a second chance.

From the little I've heard, after the first one, most of them were about a dude in a hockey mask creeping up on teenagers having sex and cutting them up. Sounds like they could be fun, but so far as being genuinely good horror movies goes, I doubt they're in the league of The Innocents or The Exorcist.
