Would love to see Scream get their hands on The Stepford Wives and all its wonky sequels. A new version of that movie would work as a great expanded universe to West World and is so relevant today. Even the disjointed remake has its moments.

Apparently Criterion has had the rights to War of the Worlds for five years. So it's possible they also got the rights to the Dead Zone from Paramount. Still, I think it's with Shout.
Arrow would be great, but let's hope it's not Criterion, otherwise we'll be waiting years.

Yeah, that's my fear. Criterion does a great job with their releases, but from the point where they acquire a license and when they actually release it could be a really long time or never.

Hopefully we know in about a month if Scream has it.

If only the pharmaceutical company that owns the rights to that and Heartbreak Kid would give them up.

Ordered Deadly Blessing directly from SHOUT on April 14th and just got it today... but it came with a slip!! I was very pleasantly surprised to say the least.

That happened to me a few years ago as well on that title and I remember being surprised at that time as years had already passed since its release then. Shout Factory must have significantly over estimated the desire for that title for slipped copies to still be available. If only all titles were so lucky.

I really hope Shout/Scream does releases of the following in the near future

Tremors (1990)
Pin (1988)
Wrong Turn (2003)
Black Xmas (2006)
Monster Squad (1987)
Near Dark (1987)

Most of these have bad or OOP releases. I really hope for PIN more than anything

Near Dark would be absolutely incredible. I really hope that comes sooner than later... (Although I'd be happy if any other boutique label gave us a beautiful CE)

These two need Blu-ray releases, along with The Hitcher (1986).

and what about the lawsuit? they don’t even know who owns the characters, so you don’t even know how to pay the licensing through. this lawsuit has been going on for a while. it’s not like it just started. so unless you scream acquired it years and years ago before the litigation... which if they had, they would have already put something out.
I have the tin set and am fine with it. But there is a huge fan community regarding this franchise. Here in Germany they released very expensive different Mediabook, Steelbook and now VHS Style Releases of all the movies only a couple of months apart from each other and people keep buying them. So if a new, better, maybe even definitiv set would be released by SF I think it would be a big seller for them. Personally I see Scream also a bit like the Criterion Collection for Horror Movies. Therefor I would love to get matching Friday and Nightmare Sets from them, so the Halloween Set would have define companion pieces.

As far as I know the law suit does not effect the actual movies, which have been already created. Only new entries are on hold. So that shouldn't´t be any issue, regarding a possible SF box set.

Did anyone order from amazon and also get it with a slip? I´m missing this title, but haven´t tried my luck, because I thought there would be no chance at all to receive it with a slipcover these times.

I ordered it off Amazon back in 2017 and got a slip.

This is aggravating beyond belief. Happens to me with amazon all the time. Complete lack of common sense on the store's part.

Those are ones I would def pick up. Monster Squad in a heartbeat.
I don't have Dekker's third film, Robocop 3, so I guess I should make another order soon and grab the Robocop sequels.

Just to build on that list, I really hope Scream continues with more Raimi/Craven/Romero titles. Hell I know there's a couple Carpenter titles leftto could do (but I doubt since the likely ones are The Ward and Dark Star).

But I've been dying to see Scream get:

Craven's Work
Deadly Friend (1986)
Vampire in Brooklyn (1995)
Red Eye (2006)

Romero's Work
Martin (1878)
Dawn of the Dead (1978)
Bruiser (2000)

Raimi's Work
A Simple Plan (1998)
The Gift (2000)

I know their deal with Paramount (which also includes Dreamworks titles) means there's a likely chance for Vampire in Brooklyn, Red Eye, A Simple Plan and The Gift. I really wanna see those Raimi titles confirmed as I think they are great films and it'd be nice to see Raimi's work be complete in blu-ray quality.
I also know that the Dawn of the Dead and Martin are pipedreams. They're getting UK releases later this year. But some have theorized that there's multiple companies involved in obtaining Region A rights. So I hope that's the case. Both are brilliant films and Romero deserves so much more recognition.
And while Lionsgate holds rights on Bruiser, maybe there's a chance Scream could go for that one. They seriously should consider it.

I'm sure someone out there is and is eagerly awaiting this release. I just gave my thoughts on it, I highly doubt I'm gonna go and buy it.

What are the chances of Shout releasing 1408? Who currently owns the rights to the Dimension titles? This could use re-release with the proper theatrical ending restored which was criminally omitted on the curent release, not even as a deleted scene. I was thinking about importing the German version but if the chances of Shout releasing this are good i'll probably just hold off.

I believe CBS Viacom took over the Dimension titles when they got the distribution rights to Miramax's catalog.

Might happen, but don't hold your breath, it would take a new contract.
