I'd love to meet Lillard at a Con. Kane Hodder, Sid Haig, Felissa Rose, and Dee Wallace are always great to meet; all are kind and courteous.

I have to agree, these are a lot of fun.

While I wasn't a huge fan of 3 out of 4 movies included in Volume 5, I still bought it to be a complitst and I did find the commentaries really, really interesting. Especially the Scott Gallinghouse's commentary on "Jungle Captive," which give a lot of perspective on low-budget film-making at the time.

I would kind of agree with this. Set 1 had some good films with Karloff and Lugosi and some decent special features. But Volume 2 were all just old B-movies only around 1 hr. a piece. And there wasn't much in the way of features (I think there are a couple commentaries). So $50-60 is steep for these titles. It's why I haven't picked up any more as I haven't been able to justify it, but I do want to get the other sets eventually. I think these would have been better priced around $40 since they don't have many special features. Regardless 6 volumes is more than I ever really expected these to last so I'm glad some of these older forgotten horror films got released again.

So, with a bunch of panels of Comic Con at home being announced, I'm really hoping Scream does one. Not going to lie, I always look forward to these previews every year.

It would be pretty cool to watch a live stream of a SF! Panel for sure!

Sid Haig, sadly, passed away last September.

I think it would be a good chance for Scream to do an interactive event, take some questions, give away prizes, and drop some new announcements throughout. Maybe it's just me, but it seems like they're not as active on social media these days, leading to something of a disconnect with fans. I know there have been issues in the past (prices, packaging), and even now (with delayed orders), and admittedly most of these are more of a Shout issue than a Scream one, but holding an online SDCC panel with the participation of fans would seem like a step in the right direction.

I imagine they won't be appearing on a Shock Waves podcast any time soon, so this would also help fill that particular void.

I think those are all great ideas. They are without a doubt less present on social media than they were a few years ago. They still respond here and there and post new release news, but it would be great to see them with a more active presence.

They have released a lot of great titles in the past 12 months, and I hope the next 12 months include many other sought after titles. I do think there was some frustration with their really long ship times, but it seems like most have been forgiving of the delays of the titles due to COVID. Either way, an interactive panel for SDCC would be amazing.

Would be nice if they did the interactive live stream for SDCC, but I dont think it will happen this time. I fully expect for SF to just roll out each months announcements as usual.

I’m okay with that, all things considered. Just keep those great announcements coming.

Would be cool if they posted some sort or collage with hints on it of upcoming titles, similar to what some other labels do.

With Hammer and classic Universal Horror thinning out, what's next for Shout Factory? They've already announced a good chunk of the bigger Paramount horror titles - what's left? I don't have a lot of hope for anything further from the Warner back catalog, just more post-modern stuff like Thirteen Ghosts and Ghost Ship. Pretty sure the House of Wax remake and Gothika are up next but these already have good Blu-rays. The Corman stuff is tied up in legal limbo and Shout hasn't announced anything new from MGM in a long time (VinSyn and Scorpion have taken over MGM acquisitions). So, any ideas?

Maybe they will grab some random one off titles that reverted back to the directors/producers/lawyers.

Some that may fit the bill:

Blood Beach
Near Dark
Fright Night Part II
Bad Taste/Dead Alive

Blood Beach - Apparently even the film-makers themselves don't know who has the rights to this
Near Dark - It's apparently no longer with Lionsgate and in fact, could possibly be heading in Kino's direction due to a deal for part of the DEG library.
Fright Night Part II - See 'Blood Beach'
Dead Alive - Once Peter Jackson finishes doing the 4K transfers on this, Bad Taste, Meet the Feebles and Heavenly Creatures, it could very well be anyone's game as to who gets the distribution rights. It may even end up being a (pricey) package deal.

If anyone were to get Jackson's early work, it would be Arrow. They just seem like the right fit and I feel like they would go hard for them.
Now we just need PJ to finish editing his Beatles documentary and then get to finishing the 4k transfers along with extras scavenging.

Unfortunately it seems like 4K bluray double dips are probably up next
