Well Walmart is particularly bad, first you have to get someone in that area, if there is even someone there, then they have to look for it in the cluster**** that is the display of movies they have. Good luck

I have completely stopped asking any retail employee for anything. At any store.

Even if you go in person and ask someone to check in the back, they either say if its not on the rack, it's not in stock, or they go in the back for 5 minutes and pretend to look, only to come back and say they couldn't find anything.

This is why i always ignore store employees, or give them a quick "No", when they ask if i need help with anything. They're all useless. Call me an ******* all you want, but i've had enough with it all. I'll look myself, if i can't find it, i'll just leave.

I think your attitude is disrespectful... but I also know you're right on several of your comments. Most of the time it's futile to ask someone to look for something in stock.

I grabbed Brewster's Millions (with slip) and Cobra from my local Walmart. They also had Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (with slip) and Road House. Didn't see any other titles.

If your idea of trying to help is implying that another poster doesn't know how to use a phone, then you're doing it wrong.

I don't ask unless I have to, but it does help, in my experience. When the Gladiator 4K steelbook came out almost two weeks ago, I saw online that the Best Buy around the corner from me had it in stock. However, when I got to the store, there were none to be found. I asked an employee about it, and after being unable to find some herself out on display, she went to the back to look for me. She came out with several copies, as I'd requested, from which I picked one I was happy with. She was probably the most helpful employee I've dealt with, but overall, I've only had one in recent memory not even bother to go to the back and just tell me that if it wasn't out, they didn't have it.

Maybe I just have bad luck then lol. Very few times do I ask for help.

For example. Just a few weeks ago I called my local Dollar Tree to see if they had any blu Ray's out and they said yeah we have them. I went over and there was nothing there. I asked the tiy and he actually went to the back and came out and said "idk".

Real helpful lol

On the subject of OOP Scream Factory titles, a few days ago, I received my copy of IFC's "The Devil's Doorway," and while I know that films shot in the "found-footage" and/or POV style can be highly polarizing, this one is an eerie, creepy, gem. It also has a lot on its mind as a film, with trenchant and potent social/cultural/religious commentary that I won't go into because of spoilers. If you like the subgenre of "Catholic-themed horror," as I do, though, or if you just like eerie, atmospheric horror films, you really should check out this one.

The Blu-ray is bare-bones, but the movie is so good, IMO, that I'm very glad to have it in my collection. It has even received many good critical notices, which is unusual for a found footage horror movie these days. It's currently still available on Blu-ray and DVD at Grindhouse Video: https://grindhousevideo.com/products...2bd7e7ab&_ss=r

Preordered Orca. I really like the movie, but pretty bare bones for a SF release.

i’ll say this, because this is something i always deal with. the people who work in these stores only work because it’s a job and have no idea or passion for movies. they don’t know what is coming out and when and they really couldn’t give two shits about movies. and that before factoring in stuff that is stickered wrong in the warehouse before it is shipped and other misinventory issues. on top of not knowing or caring to know how it works,

my first job was a video store. i has to do inventory, and i had to receive packages. so i knew what was in the store. i kept an eye on the release lists, so i knew what was coming out. and i wasn’t getting paid a lot either. and this was when you had stores that were just video stores. now, a place like walmart or target or best buy with a small department? forget it.

My complaining isn't just towards movies though, it's in general for all types of things. Most retail employees are lazy.

Good afternoon. I would like you to help me with some movies I saw in the 90's. I don't
remember their titles. The first one is a about a mutant monster made with toxic nuclear waste inside a volcano. I think the movie is set in an island, there are corporations and military, the main actor wear glasses, I think. There is a scene where a scientist? squeeze the venom from snake into a jar, I don't remember much, it must be an early 90's film. There's a female main, too. And the monster was big with long arms.
Then there are a couple of TV-movies? from the 90's. The first one is about a creature who grows by electricity. At the beginning is small as a rat but at the end is a big-ass monster. It electrocutes people and kills them. The other movie is about a "killer" robot. It looks friendly, but I think it goes rogue, or something, and start killing people. It kills people by shooting steel marbles? (i don't know if that's the right word in english). My memory is fuzzy, but there's a scene where it kills a teacher? in a school gym? There's a kid who befriend it, maybe his family bought it.
That's all. I would appreciate any answer. I know some of you would guess the movies.

made-for-tv movie, 'Not of this World' (1991) about an alien that crash lands in a small town and begins killing off the townsfolk while needing to feed off electricity as it gets bigger and bigger. Cool, fun little monster movie with a creepy looking alien! Love that movie and lucky enough to have a copy on my shelf. It really does need to be rescued from obscurity... The other movies you mention aren't ringing any bells just yet.

That sounds like something Vinegar Syndrome would release.

Damn. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 had dropped to $19.99 on Amazon yesterday, but I dragged my feet. Today it's back up to $27.34.
