Yeah... I’m seriously rethinking my direct order now. The limited nature of the posters was the big draw for me, but now $50 in savings seems like the better move.

but i am now thinking of this, if scream has 7000 of the orders, there will only be 5000, of these sets combined for all the other online retailers which might cause a lot of the sites to oversell

No rumours of a Nightmare set coming.

Re: the 3D in Freddy's Dead, though - it's always been red/blue. It was presented that way in its original theatrical release.

It would leave 6,000 copies for other retailers.

Very true but a real 3-D Conversion would be most welcome...Alice Cooper in Real 3-D

But what’s to stop them from upping that number now too, I highly doubt this is going to stay limited to 13k sets if there’s a demand, this is SF! after all...

Exactly what I was thinking, so I'm hoping they DO increase the number of sets, so those of us who don't want to spend the extra money on the posters can get a set without retailers being shorted.

Typically when a set is numbered, it's an agreement worked out between Shout and the other party. They may not be allowed to up the number of sets without authorization from Paramount/WB.

(Don't get me wrong, it's entirely likely that they may do a higher run, but that's probably the reason why they announced the posters get a higher count rather than the sets for now.)

Shout was able to up the numbers for the Nightbreed limited edition after it was selling so well. And that movie isn't even as popular as Friday the 13th. I'm sure they'll probably work something out.

Oh jeez, the last thing we need is another Nightbreed debacle where they sent the LE copies to the wrong people who ordered the standard version. I guess it's a good thing theres no standard version of the box set yet, to get them mixed up lol.

I wonder how Arrow can top Scream with their October releases. Possibly a Dawn of the Dead (and Martin) release?

Yeah, it was nice. Too bad this set is the usual bullshit. Just grab 85 characters and shove them all together floating around.

Wasn't the WB set also limited in print run? Anyone know how many of those sets were made?

They won't. They've strayed off course.

Scream has stayed on assignment.

I don't think they ever really stated a number, it just sort of went OOP after awhile.

They can't, and won't even bother to try.

I don't believe it was a specific number of copies, but its rarity came from WB only having the rights for such a small window of time that they only did one run of the set.
