Didn't VS print 12k copies of RAD and sell through almost all of them in a weekend? No surprise this won't be limited to 13k copies. If SF did that they would be complete idiots.

I can't believe so many people are upset over those overrated comic book looking posters with 56 heads of Jason when there's more important things dealing with this boxset, like the needed preservation of the TV cuts!

This issue, if you even want to call it an issue, comes up over and over on every forum, " oh, they said it was limited to 5k, now it's 10k, those horrible liars"!!

It doesn't make any sense, with a set like this they should press as many as they can to meet demand, only scalpers would get upset that the amount being pressed isn't capped.

I would assume as much, since the box houses all the cases and the wrapping would likely be around that.

The only difference from Shout to the other retailers appears to be the poster and lithograph.

Even then, the posters will still fetch a premium once they're sold out, regardless of how many copies are sold. The only difference is you'd have to wait longer to sell it.

This will be the first time the unrated cut of Jason Goes to Hell is on Blu-Ray, yes?

Also, I sold my tin set on eBay a few months ago in anticipation of this release, and now that the full details are here, I’m glad I did. It’s a shame they couldn’t do new scans for every film, but who knows what could have prevented that from happening... At least each film gets its own disc, so if done correctly, they could still be visual upgrades over the previous set which had double feature discs (+extras) for many of the sequels.

Officially, yes, but there's been a bootleg circulating for a while now.

The double features discs looked fine all things considered, but I still never got the logic of them putting the two longest sequels (7 & 8) on the same disc considering the amount of special features they had.

More people being able to buy a set of one of the most popular slasher franchises ever is not a bad thing.

These movies have had countless re-releases on all formats over the years so it's probably going to happen at some point, but hopefully sooner than later. I'll gladly buy 4K versions down the line.

The only one i'm bummed about not getting a new scan is Jason Lives. That one has always been my fav.

Probably. It's also possible they're still working on them, but they haven't been finished yet. Per their FB post about it:

New & existing extras from prior home entertainment releases are in progress and will be revealed in full on a later date. (The COVID situation prevented us from getting everything finalized before today’s announce.)
