I agree with all of that, but that little window of time when Child's Play, Black Christmas and Dead Ringers needed replacements was pretty damn annoying, to say nothing of when I had to check to make sure I had the "corrected" copies of Army of Darkness and The Thing. I love Scream, but I just don't trust their initial releases, especially big collections like this. Too much room for error.

Don't look at me like that. You know you're all thinking the same thing I am.
That's why I was hesitant to preorder. That or the films not looking better than what we already have.

Earthquake was another Shout release they messed up and had to replace. So, yes, I was thinking the same thing as you.

Was that a Scream Factory error or Anchor Bay? I really don't know but I'm pretty sure Starz handled the replacements so I always assumed it was their doing. Although Scream probably should have caught it, I guess.

Same. I trust them with the smaller stuff (their old Universal collections are just stellar, to say nothing of the individual Hammer releases, Monster On The Campus, Return Of The Vampire, etc.), but they've got a 50/50 record with these big releases.

The Halloween 4 error was Anchor Bay’s doing, not Scream’s. Scream was in charge of putting together the set and getting special features, but Anchor Bay is who handled the disc replication (and were responsible for choosing those terrible eco-cases). At the time, Halloween 4 was an Anchor Bay title and Shout had zero to do with the Halloween 4 disc itself.

Uh no, that was one of Anchor Bays discs, that’s why you had to contact Anchor Bay to get a replacement.

Gotta love the Bash Brigade, why let facts get in the way of a good label bash.
So now they are already planning to bash the F13 set. Lol. It’s no surprise our society has devolved into a hate first/like second society. Why look for the good in something when it’s so much easier to look for fault.

Years ago I used to own a bootleg VHS copy of the director's cut of JASON GOES TO HELL. Here are a few things to look for to know if the Scream Factory version is the real deal.

- There is a death scene involving a guy getting his teeth bashed into a bathroom sink that reminded me of DEEP RED.

- Pretty much every death scene is gorier. The one that sticks out is the diner scene were Jason crushes the girl's head with his bare hands. You actually see her brain pop out of her head and hit the ceiling.

- The full size Jason demon that is seen in the original theatrical trailer makes an appearance.

- When Creighton Duke is interviewed at his compound, he references all the different ways people have tried to kill Jason and mentions toxic waste as one of them. That turns out to be the sole connecting point between JASON TAKES MANHATTAN and JASON GOES TO HELL.

I believe the director said on Twitter the version of JGTH restored for this box will be the uncut not his Director's Cut.

Well, only 5 movies are going to have new transfers (1-4 [4K remaster], Jason Goes to Hell [2K remaster]), the rest will look the same as before. So if that's a deal breaker that not every movie is going to be remastered, it's best not to buy this set.

I've seen images of this in magazines and even in the old JGTH trading card set but never been able to see it live and I've seen TV versions, workprints and various uncut versions. Hopefully they restore this or at least add it as an extra but I doubt it. Maybe they'll talk about it in the new JGTH doc that's supposed to be out this year. Hearts of Darkness: The Making of The Final Friday.

And the price went up $25 on Amazon Canada. So glad I didn't hesitate pulling the trigger on this.

Am I glad I bit the bullet and ordered it this morning before noon and going out to mow in 90+ degrees and clouds of dust and pollen.

I really like that poster and the whole package is beautiful and loaded and I knew ordering from Shout was only way to guarantee a set, even though I agonized over it for 5 days.

You got it just in the nick of time! It's an incredible set for sure. I usually don't care for swag, but the poster and litho look incredible. At this rate, I have to believe that unless they up the numbers, sites are going to over-sell and there will be tears shed come Oct 13th
